Burger shop in Beomeo, Daegu: Avocado Burger & mozza sticks, Downtown

Downtown is already a famous handmade burger brand in Seoul, so when I heard it had opened in Daegu, I knew I had to go. This time I finally visited Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage (다운타우너 대구빌리브헤리티지). I like burgers in general, so my expectations were high, and it turned out to be a place I'd happily come back to whenever I'm craving a handmade burger.

Location and parking at Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage

Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage is at 20 Deuran-ro 73-gil, Suseong-gu, Daegu, on the 1st floor of Building 302 in the Believe Heritage complex in Beomeo-dong. It is open daily from 11:00 to 21:00. For parking, use the Doyu Suseong parking lot (373-375 Deuran-ro, Suseong-gu), which gives a 1 hour free parking ticket when you spend ₩30,000 or more.

It's not too far from Beomeo Station, so access was decent, and since it's on the main road in Beomeo it wasn't hard to find. There is a dedicated parking lot close to the shop, so parking and heading in was easy.

Exterior and interior atmosphere

Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage shares the space with other shops, such as Clap Pizza. The red brick exterior stands out even from a distance. It looks stylish from the outside, so the anticipation starts before you even walk in.

The first thing you notice when you step inside is Downtown's signature casual vibe.

Overall it felt clean and trendy, as if the space itself makes the burgers taste even better.

It works for a quick solo meal, and it also suits a group who want to sit back and chat over food.

The self-serve bar has water, disposable cutlery, pickles, napkins and more, so it's easy to help yourself.

Downtown menu: what did I order?

At Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage I ordered the signature Avocado Burger and 2 jumbo mozzarella sticks. There were lots of choices, from the Classic Downtown Burger to the Classic Cheeseburger and the Avocado Burger. Personally I was curious about the Cream Cheese Chicken Burger, but I wanted to try Downtown's signature burger, so I went with the Avocado Burger. There were eye-catching sides too, and since I'd often seen mozzarella sticks in American mukbang videos, I was curious and added 2 jumbo mozza sticks.

You can also pick 2 sauces for free. On the staff's recommendation I chose House and Garlic Mayo. Downtown sells sides and drinks as well as burgers, so it makes a filling meal.

Jumbo mozza sticks and sauces: which was best?

Out came the Avocado Burger and jumbo mozza sticks, and they looked so delicious.

Mozza sticks are best while they're warm, right? I dug in before they could cool down.

That long, stretchy cheese pull is exactly what I was hoping for. 🤭

Both the House and Garlic Mayo sauces had their charms, but my friend and I personally liked the House sauce better. Next time I want to try the Ranch sauce too.

How does the Downtown Avocado Burger taste?

The bun on the Avocado Burger at Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage was soft, and I was happy with the patty thickness. Above all, the patty texture was great. It wasn't too dry, and it stayed juicy enough that the meat flavor came through with every bite. The sauce wasn't overly strong either, so the balance was good overall.

Verdict: is it a recommended handmade burger in Beomeo?

A burger comes down to the balance of bun, patty, cheese and sauce, and Downtown's burgers felt well harmonized overall. If you're looking for a clean, good handmade burger place in Beomeo, Daegu, I recommend Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage.
