Gogi 9dan Chimsan Direct Branch is a charcoal-grilled beef restaurant on Chimsannam-ro in Buk-gu, Daegu. On a weekday evening the writer and a diet-conscious partner grilled half-platters each of fresh ribs and skirt steak, and worked through 8 basic side dishes, the 9dan set (yukhoe raw beef, stew, jjolmyeon spicy noodles and sushi with wasabi), patbingsu (shaved ice with red beans) and the self-serve dessert bar. Ordering two half-platters made it easy to compare cuts, and with dedicated parking and window seats, Gogi 9dan suited both a couple and a family.
