Yongsan tteokbokki spot with summer slushie combo set: Hyeonseonine
Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch is a tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) restaurant in Yongsan, Seoul, about 10 minutes on foot from Sinyongsan and Yongsan stations, and it has been running since it started as a street cart in 2004. On a hot day the writer skipped the tabletop-burner instant tteokbokki and ordered the Hyeonseonine combo set, which comes with tteokbokki, mixed fried snacks, mini gimbap (seaweed rice rolls), sundae (blood sausage) and fish cake skewers, then added self-serve fried batter crumbs and the restaurant's new slushie. Even after many visits, the spicy-sweet sauce at Hyeonseonine tasted exactly the same, which made the trip worth it.
