A new handmade burger joint near Saetgang Station: Dumburger Yeouido

Dumburger Yeouido is a new handmade burger place near Saetgang Station, on the east Yeouido side. The yellow DUMB BURGER sign catches your eye from far away.

If you want a handmade burger in Yeouido, there are fewer options than you'd think, and around east Yeouido and Saetgang Station almost nothing came to mind, haha. Then I spotted the newly opened Dumburger near Saetgang Station! The yellow DUMB BURGER sign grabs you from the outside. It's new, so the whole place feels clean and pretty hip, haha.

What's the atmosphere inside Dumburger Yeouido?

The inside of Dumburger Yeouido is a retro American diner style, with yellow booth seats, white tile, stainless steel and glass blocks. With an open kitchen plus tables and bar seats, it looked fine for eating solo too.

Once you step inside, the mood is even clearer, haha.

Yellow booths, white tile, stainless steel and glass blocks... it feels like an old American burger joint reinterpreted in a modern style? Haha.

Even the wall graphics and lighting have a clear concept, so I came in for a simple lunch and ended up taking quite a lot of photos.

The kitchen is open, so you can watch the burgers being made. The place isn't very big, but it has a decent number of tables and bar-style seats, so it looked fine for eating alone.

What I ordered that day: a BLT burger set and a shrimp burger set!

How was the shrimp burger, limited to 30 a day?

The shrimp burger at Dumburger Yeouido is reportedly sold only 30 a day. The patty is crisp and fried, while the whole shrimp inside is very tender, and it was the most memorable thing I ate that day.

First, the shrimp burger.

I was curious because it's limited to 30 a day, so I ordered it.

In the photo it looks like an ordinary shrimp burger with a thick fried patty, but the shrimp texture inside was quite impressive. It has whole shrimp that bites very softly rather than tough or bouncy. The outside is fried crisp and the shrimp inside is tender, so the contrast in texture was good, and the red onion and sauce on top help cut the richness somewhat.

Personally, counting the fact that it's a limited item, the shrimp burger was the most memorable of what I ate that day.

How hearty is the Dumburger BLT burger?

The BLT burger at Dumburger Yeouido has a meat patty with bacon and cheese, topped with big pieces of tomato and lettuce, so it has real volume. The veggies are generous, so the meat flavor comes through without it feeling too heavy.

And then the BLT burger!

As you can see in the photo, it's packed with lettuce and tomato. The meat patty has bacon and cheese, with big pieces of tomato and lettuce on top, so the volume is substantial.

Cut in half, you can see the layers better. The rich taste of the patty and bacon is balanced by lots of fresh veggies, so it was better balanced than I expected. You clearly taste the meat you expect from a handmade burger, but the lettuce and tomato are so generous that it doesn't feel too heavy. It's not easy to eat in one bite, but if you like BLTs, I think you'd be quite satisfied.

Set fries and cola

The sets at Dumburger Yeouido come with fries and cola. The fries are thin, crisp, classic French fries.

The fries from the set came too! They're basic French fries, thin and crispy, so they went fine with the burger, and with cola alongside, the handmade burger combo was complete.

Is Dumburger Yeouido worth going back to?

Both the burgers and the retro diner atmosphere at Dumburger Yeouido were good, so I'd like to come back. Around Saetgang Station and east Yeouido, it looked good for lunch and also for a casual date.

Overall, the burgers were good, and counting the atmosphere of the place, it's somewhere I'd like to visit again. There are lots of restaurants in Yeouido, but good handmade burger places aren't that plentiful, so I'm glad a new burger spot in this style opened around Saetgang Station and east Yeouido.

In particular, the shop isn't styled like a typical fast-food place but with a retro American diner feel, so it looked good not just for lunch but also for a casual date.

I liked the tender whole-shrimp texture of the shrimp burger limited to 30 a day, and I was happy with the BLT burger packed with bacon, lettuce and tomato on a meat patty too! Once word spreads, I think it could become a go-to spot near Saetgang Station when you're craving a handmade burger. If you're looking for a new handmade burger place in Yeouido, especially east Yeouido, Dumburger is worth a stop!
