Steak restaurant in Gwangju Suwan: medium-rare tenderloin, Bueokgan

Today I'm introducing Bueokgan Suwan Branch (부엌간 수완점), a good pick for brunch, Western food, steak and dates in the Suwan area of Gwangju. Ta-da~ ^0^ Can you believe it's already the end of October? Time flies. I hear it gets cold starting today, so bundle up and watch out for colds~^^

Where is Bueokgan Suwan Branch, and how do you park?

Bueokgan Suwan Branch is at 37 Suwan-ro 106beon-gil, 1st floor (1340 Suwan-dong), Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, near Sumun 1 Park. You can park in the alleys around the restaurant.

• If you're using a car navigation system, search for '1341 Suwan-dong' and you'll find Bueokgan Suwan Branch in the building on the left.

How do you order at Bueokgan Suwan Branch, and what's on the menu?

At Bueokgan Suwan Branch you sit down and order on a table kiosk. The menu is wide: set menus, pasta, risotto, steak, salad, soup, wine and more!

The 200g tenderloin steak and choosing your doneness

Ppang-i (the writer's nickname) ordered the Bueokgan tenderloin steak 200g. It comes with a Mediterranean-style chimichurri sauce, Japanese-style gomadare (sesame dipping sauce), and a garnish of cabbage and shishito peppers~! You just tap the order button on the kiosk and it goes right through~!

Most people like medium rare, but you can ask the staff about the doneness, and if you want it well done, just ask for well done, I think~! Ppang-i likes medium rare, so that's what I ordered!

What's the atmosphere like at Bueokgan Suwan Branch for gatherings and dates?

The inside of Bueokgan Suwan Branch is so pretty that it looked great for gatherings, company dinners and dates. Lots of groups and families were sitting by the windows~! With such a pretty space, it seems really good for get-togethers, dinners and dates!

How was the 200g tenderloin steak at Bueokgan?

The 200g tenderloin steak came out exactly as ordered, medium rare, and it was good both dipped in the chimichurri and eaten plain. Looks tempting, right? haha The chimichurri is spread under the tenderloin, and they give you steak sauce separately too~! With a generous helping of cabbage in gomadare sauce plus shishito peppers, there's no way it couldn't taste good!

The meat came out just the way Ppang-i likes it, so I was so happy! haha

Cabbage with gomadare sauce is really delicious, haha. Gomadare is a Japanese-style sesame dipping sauce~!

The tenderloin is so good that it's tasty dipped in the chimichurri and tasty on its own too! haha

Is Bueokgan Suwan Branch worth a return visit?

The 200g tenderloin steak at Bueokgan Suwan Branch was so good that Ppang-i plans to come back. After enjoying it, I took my 'Ppang-gnature' (a Ppang-i selfie).

BMI 29 Ppang-i really enjoyed the Bueokgan tenderloin steak 200g at Bueokgan Suwan Branch! When I was young I worked as a pizza chef at a restaurant in Perth, Australia, and the interior here reminded me of that restaurant, which I loved, haha. It felt like eating memories too! hehe

The staff were also so friendly, which was great. It would be good with family, for a gathering or company dinner, or for a date or with someone you're getting to know, hehe.
