Gogit-ri 88beonji is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Gojan-dong, Ansan, where you can eat briquette pre-grilled meat. The weather was lovely and I wanted that outdoor-terrace atmosphere, so I searched for a good BBQ place in Gojan-dong and ended up at Gogit-ri 88beonji.

Once the sun goes down it gets cool, which makes this the perfect season for drinking outdoors. The first thing I noticed when I arrived was the big outdoor seating area. It felt lively, a cool breeze was blowing, and it instantly put me in a good mood!

Opening hours are 4 PM to 1 AM on weekdays and 1 PM to 1 AM on weekends. You can park for 2 hours free at the Deoksan Parking Tower, so it's easy to come by car.

Is it good for a group dinner in Gojan-dong?

Inside, Gogit-ri 88beonji has group tables and plenty of space, so it looked like a good choice for a company dinner in Gojan-dong. Even indoors the doors are open, so it doesn't feel stuffy at all, and it felt like you could get the outdoor-terrace experience inside too.

Gogit-ri Set A, 500g for ₩45,000, for two

Gogit-ri Set A is a 500g set for ₩45,000 that lets you eat pork belly, pork neck and gabrisal (pork neck-adjacent cut, the meat by the shoulder) all together, a good amount for two people. I couldn't decide what to order, so I went with Set A, and the value was great! Since Gogit-ri 88beonji pre-grills the meat over briquettes, I recommend ordering any extras in advance!

How does the briquette pre-grilled set come out?

After a short wait, the pre-grilled Set A arrived. The pork neck comes fully cooked so you can eat it right away, and the staff kindly explained that the pork belly and gabrisal need a bit more grilling. Seeing the nicely pre-grilled meat made me even hungrier!

Because the meat is pre-grilled directly over briquettes, you get a subtle smoky flavor. The heat of the briquettes cooks the surface first and locks in the juices, so the meat stays moist when you grill it.

The staff also grill the gabrisal and pork belly so they don't burn. While waiting for those to finish cooking, I decided to try the pork neck first.

Pork neck with myeoljeot, and a post-work beer

The pork neck came sliced to a nice thickness, juicy and pleasantly chewy. The faint briquette aroma made it taste even better. I dipped the first piece in salt, and pork neck with myeoljeot is just... no words needed!

I couldn't resist, so I ordered a bottle of beer. Meat with cold beer is so refreshing and delicious. A beer after work really is the best, haha.

Gabrisal with pickled radish, scallion salad and wasabi

The gabrisal was nutty, mild and delicious. It also went well with the pickled radish wraps, scallion salad and wasabi!

Pork belly with grilled white kimchi

The pork belly was crispy outside and juicy inside, and the juices burst out. Eaten with well-grilled white kimchi, the combination is wonderful. Going back and forth between the three cuts, the 500g disappeared in no time.

The biggest strength of Set A is that you get to enjoy a variety of textures at once! Since it comes pre-grilled, the waiting time is short, which made it even more enjoyable.

A small thoughtful touch at the counter

The counter at Gogit-ri 88beonji even has hair ties and dental floss, which showed the owner's thoughtfulness.
