Yeoksam café alone: summer watermelon smoothie and tiramisu, Mini Male
In short
Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch is a roastery café on Teheran-ro 25-gil near Yeoksam Station in Gangnam, Seoul. On a solo visit, the writer tried the signature Helsinki latte, the summer-only fresh fruit ttaengmoban (Thai-style watermelon smoothie) and Savoiardi tiramisu, and found the mid-century modern interior and indoor terrace space good for a quiet break. For a cold drink and dessert together at a Yeoksam café in summer, the ttaengmoban pairing at Mini Male Coffee Roaster is the one to order.

I was looking for a quiet Yeoksam café and ended up at Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch. This is my review after trying the signature Helsinki latte, the cool summer ttaeng-mo-ban, and the sweet tiramisu myself. If you're looking for a Yeoksam Station café to sit alone with a cup of coffee and recharge with something sweet, pay attention!☕️🤎
Location and first impressions of Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch
Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch is on the 1st floor at 26 Teheran-ro 25-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. I found it while looking for Yeoksam café desserts, and it turns out it's not an independent café but already has several branches. That day I wanted to spend some relaxed time alone at a café, so I looked around near Yeoksam Station and ended up here.

It's fairly easy to reach from around Yeoksam Station. Yeoksam has a lot of offices, so weekdays are full of office workers, but Mini Male had a bit of a different vibe from your typical office-district café. If you're looking for somewhere near Yeoksam Station to enjoy dessert along with your coffee rather than just coffee alone, I think Mini Male is a decent option.

Mid-century modern interior and indoor terrace seating
Mini Male's Yeoksam branch has a mid-century modern feel with clean, tasteful furniture arranged throughout, so the moment I walked in I thought the space itself was quite pretty. It was a great place to spend some relaxed time alone 🪑 Honestly, that day I wasn't out hunting for a famous restaurant — I just wanted to sit alone at a café and unwind without thinking about anything. So I ordered a drink and dessert and sat there for a long while, eating slowly and resting.

What I really liked was the terrace space. It's a café right in the middle of the city, yet it has a terrace area. It looks like a terrace but is actually indoors, so the air conditioning keeps it cool — though on a nice day it seems like it'd be lovely to sit outside too 🌿

I visited alone that day and sat there relaxing, and if you're someone who enjoys going to cafés solo, I think you'd really like this space. It wasn't a loud, bustling atmosphere, which I appreciated in a Yeoksam café. During the day it's good for quietly sipping coffee, and apparently the mood changes again in the evening once the lights come on. Since it's open late into the night too, it's great for office workers looking for a Yeoksam Station café after getting off work!

When you're craving coffee + dessert in Yeoksam
Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch is great to enjoy from top to bottom — the space, the coffee, the dessert, all polished. The space is clean and comfortable enough that sitting alone doesn't feel awkward, and the variety of tables and seats made it easy to find a spot that fit my mood.

I had the signature Helsinki latte, the cool and sweet ttaeng-mo-ban, and the Savoiardi tiramisu — each menu item had a different vibe, so if you're visiting with a group, ordering a variety of drinks to share sounds like a great idea! The cookies are apparently famous as a dessert here and I was curious about them, but they were sold out when I visited. It's a nice atmosphere for chatting over coffee and dessert, but also great for a solo visit to rest for a bit.

How's the signature Helsinki latte?
The menu item I was most curious about the moment I arrived at Mini Male was the Helsinki latte ☕️🥛 It's Mini Male's signature drink, inspired by the best latte the founder found in Helsinki, Finland!

It's a latte made with in-house roasted specialty beans and smooth milk, and from the first sip it wasn't too bitter or strong — overall quite smooth. Slightly bitter with a subtle sweetness, it was good for a sugar boost too! The sweetness level was about 1.5 out of 5, so I liked that it wasn't overly sweet.

When choosing a drink at a café, I find it a bit much to pair something too sweet with dessert, but the Helsinki latte had a subtle nutty flavor along with the coffee taste, which made it a good match with the tiramisu! I liked that you get to enjoy in-house roasted specialty coffee, and that they also have a range of bakery items and desserts on hand.

Summer-only fresh fruit ttaeng-mo-ban 🍉
One of the items I ordered that day was Mini Male's summer-only ttaeng-mo-ban. It's said to be their own take on the traditional Thai ttaeng-mo-ban, made as a fresh watermelon juice. I liked being able to choose how much syrup to add! With cane sugar syrup added to the sweet watermelon, it had a slightly deeper sweetness than a plain watermelon juice. Best of all, drinking it in this kind of hot weather was so cool and refreshing 🍉

And the Savoiardi tiramisu 🤎
For dessert I chose the Savoiardi tiramisu. It's a traditional-style tiramisu made with mascarpone cream, ladyfingers soaked in espresso, and Dutch cocoa powder.

These days a lot of tiramisu comes loaded with cream or in a dense, very sweet style, but this one felt relatively true to the basics. The mascarpone cream was soft, and you could taste the bitterness of the espresso alongside it, so it wasn't as sweet as I expected. With the cocoa powder dusted on top, the balance between sweet and slightly bitter was really nice.

A Yeoksam café worth recommending to coffee lovers too
Mini Male apparently uses specialty green beans that score 80 points or higher in cupping, with the head roaster personally selecting and roasting the beans — you could tell this is a café that really cares about its coffee! Rather than just a café with a nice atmosphere near Yeoksam Station, this is a Yeoksam café I'd also recommend to people who know their coffee. It seemed like a good place to bring along someone who isn't even that into coffee too, since there are plenty of other options. Especially in summer, if you're looking for Yeoksam café desserts along with a cool drink, I'd also recommend the ttaeng-mo-ban!
