Nampo is a shellfish grill and seafood pub on Gyeongsanggamyeong-gil in the Gyodong area of Jung-gu, Daegu. For shrimp season in mid-August, the writer ordered the 55,000-won plate that comes half raw shrimp and half grilled shrimp at an indoor marble table, with pork cutlet, macaroni corn salad and clam-and-vegetable kalguksu as free side dishes and buttered shrimp heads plus milk ice cream to finish. If you are looking for raw shrimp in Gyodong, Nampo is the answer.

Daegu dog café with a 2nd-floor indoor playground

Daenghaus&Bingsuking is a dog-friendly café near Yangnyeongsi in Dongseongno, Jung-gu, Daegu, that uses a whole standalone building. Visiting with her dog Tori, the writer went around the first-floor interior, the artificial-turf terrace yard and the summer pool, then used the training equipment and gym ball in the second-floor playground, and found the injeolmi (sweet rice cake) red bean bingsu big enough to share between two.
