Mieumnaru Han River-view restaurant, weekday early dinner date: Romaok

Not long ago my wife and I went to a restaurant famous as one of the best places to eat in Namyangju's Mieumnaru area. And it's... Romaok Riverside (로마옥 리버사이드)!!

Romaok Riverside lets you take a relaxed meal looking out over the wide Han River, and it's already a popular Namyangju date spot and drive destination. It was also selected for Blue Ribbon Survey 2025, so we went in with high expectations.

How do you book Romaok Riverside?

We visited with a Naver reservation and were given a window seat. Booking through Naver is honestly the smartest choice for Romaok Riverside!!

The seat looks right out over the Han River, so I was in a good mood before the food even arrived. A full-glass window onto the outdoor garden and the lights, and my beautiful wife too!!

Romaok Riverside early dinner event conditions

Romaok Riverside is currently running an early dinner event too.

The early dinner times are 17:00/18:30 and 17:30/19:00 (as written in the original), and if you make an early dinner reservation on Naver, they give you a free mini pine nut caprese salad.

Weekends and public holidays are excluded, and same-day visits and same-day reservations are possible, so it's easy to use without any pressure.

Bread comes out before the meal at Romaok Riverside, and it's classier and tastier than what you'd get at a bakery specialist.

What does the maesaengi scallop risotto taste like?

The first dish we ordered was the maesaengi scallop risotto. It has scallops, shrimp, maesaengi (fine seaweed), perilla oil and barley, and it's our couple's favorite, the one we order every time we visit Romaok Riverside.

Unlike a typical cream risotto, it uses chewy glutinous barley for texture, and the seasoning isn't strong, so you can enjoy it light and clean. The fragrant flavor that's special to maesaengi really comes through, and it grows on you the more you eat.

The thick scallops were wonderfully chewy, and the shrimp was fresh too, so the overall balance was excellent. If you like flavors that aren't harsh, I'm sure this risotto will blow your mind.

Hanwoo ragu fresh-pasta lasagna roll: taste and looks

Next we ordered the hanwoo ragu fresh-pasta lasagna roll. Hanwoo ragu, tomato sauce, ricotta mousse, béchamel, balsamic reduction and basil oil all come together in harmony.

The first thing that caught my eye when the lasagna roll arrived was how it looked. The plating was really pretty, and we were very happy with the photos. It has the kind of stylish look that people hunting for a Namyangju brunch spot or a restaurant with atmosphere will love. The taste was better than expected too.

The rich hanwoo ragu and the acidity of the tomato sauce blend naturally, and the subtle scent of basil oil lifts the whole dish. The fresh pasta comes out baked in the oven, so the crispy and soft parts balance beautifully. The ricotta mousse added a smooth, luxurious flavor.

Looking out at the Han River through the window as we ate, I immediately understood why so many people recommend it as a Namyangju date spot. Everyone from families to couples was visiting, and they say you can also hire it for small weddings and gatherings.

2nd-floor coffee and the Americano discount after the meal

After the meal at Romaok Riverside, you can have coffee and chat at leisure in the 2nd-floor space. If you take part in the Naver review event, you get 50% off an Americano. It's 1 cup per person, so any customer can use it.

With plenty of seats and a comfortable mood, it was a nice place to spend time even after eating.

Where do you park at Romaok Riverside?

For parking, use the nearby Han River public car park, which gives 1 hour of free parking, so access is decent. After parking, walk up the stairs and you're right at the Romaok garden.

How was the staff service?

What impressed me most was the service from the Romaok Riverside staff. Befitting a Blue Ribbon Survey 2025 restaurant, they were kind and attentive.

From confirming the reservation to showing us to our seat and explaining the menu, they handled everything carefully, so I think even first-time visitors can feel at ease.

It was a happy time, getting to enjoy a lovely meal with my wife looking at the Han River view after so long.
