Yoran is an izakaya in Gangnam, Seoul, for aged sashimi and clam sake steam near Samseong Jungang Station. After the Seoul International Fireworks Festival, I enjoyed chewy sashimi, spicy clam broth, and smooth Kirin draft beer, and spotted private rooms and large group tables. Verdict: a memorable spot for a quiet drink or a group dinner.

Seongdong Korean BBQ course with abalone and LA galbi: Marblejeong

Marblejeong is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Seongdong, Seoul, near Ttukseom Station. The 79,000 won Hanwoo Special Course B for two included staff-grilled 1++ Korean beef, butter-grilled abalone, LA galbi, naengmyeon, and dessert. A satisfying full-course meal, though the naengmyeon took a while to arrive.
