After a meal, we heard there was a café near AW Convention — probably the most famous spot in Ansan — that bakes its own bread, so we went to check it out. It has plenty of breads kids love and a spacious layout that's great for families.

This Gojan-dong bakery café offers a sandwich set and, in summer, a bingsu (shaved ice dessert) set, and the prices are quite reasonable. The sandwich set starts in the low ₩10,000s.

Inside Flowerpot Cafe: a wide hall where families sit

The inside of Flowerpot Cafe is pretty spacious, and even though it was a long holiday weekend with no weddings happening at the nearby wedding hall, it was still quite busy. Maybe because the space is so big, a lot of the customers were families.

The bread counter, kids' juice and what the bill came to

The bread lineup is pretty varied, and since it's all baked in-house, everything looks delicious. Prices are easy on the wallet too, and since we visited around lunchtime, a lot of people were eating sandwiches with the set menu.

There's also a separate kids' juice for families visiting with children. At cafés without a kids' drink option, it can be awkward bringing a child along since there's not much they can actually drink — but here at Flowerpot Cafe, kids can fully enjoy the juice and bread too.

We ordered the injeolmi red bean bingsu + Americano set, ciabatta, and a chocolate scone. All together it came to about ₩25,000 — thanks to the set menu, it was quite affordable.

Olive ciabatta baked in-house: soft and chewy

First, the ciabatta. It was packed with olives, which I love, and the bread was fluffy and chewy at the same time. There's no doubt this is genuinely house-baked bread. I tend to order ciabatta at pretty much any bakery I visit, and this one ranks among the best I've had.

Chocolate scone packed with chocolate

Next is the scone my wife picked. It was generously packed with chocolate too, giving it a sweet, nutty flavor that was outstanding.

Injeolmi red bean bingsu with Americano: the set our child wouldn't share

This is the injeolmi bingsu our kid picked out. I actually learned this time that my child loves injeolmi (sweet rice cake coated in bean flour), which is exactly why they wanted this the moment they saw it. It was piled generously with injeolmi, and the ice, made from milk, was really smooth. I loved how generous the injeolmi topping was.

Eating bingsu alone can leave you feeling chilly, but ordering it as a set with an Americano meant we could warm back up afterward.

It must have hit exactly the right spot for our kid, because the moment I tried to take a bite, I got told, 'Dad, don't eat my bingsu.' That's how much this bingsu suited a kid's taste — enough to guard it fiercely.

The verdict on Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch

Known as a dessert café in Ansan, Flowerpot Cafe is a standout bakery café located at Ansan's 25-si Plaza. The bread here is genuinely delicious.

With an affordable sandwich set and a bingsu set, a lot of families came through, and plenty of people were also grabbing a light lunch. It's a great café for catching up with people over bread and bingsu after a wedding at the nearby AW wedding hall. If you're visiting a wedding or looking for a great bakery café near 25-si Plaza, I'd recommend stopping by Flowerpot Cafe.
