Cleansing balm for oily skin makeup removal: HEEDA charcoal balm
In short
HEEDA Jirisan Moist Charcoal Cleansing Balm is a cleansing balm for oily skin, tested in Korea. I used the black sherbet-like balm for makeup removal by rolling it for about 30 seconds, emulsifying it with water, and rinsing with lukewarm water; afterward, it felt moisturizing rather than tight. Recommended as a reference for oily skin concerned about makeup removal and blackheads.

How did the cleansing balm texture feel on oily skin?

My skin tends to get oily, and when sebum is not managed well on hot days, I tend to get breakouts. This product had a black sherbet-like texture that I could scoop out smoothly with the spatula.

Rather than running down immediately like cleansing oil, it melted as it met my skin temperature, which made it comfortable to use. On days when an oil type felt burdensome, the lightweight balm type suited me better.

How did I remove makeup?

I applied it evenly to my face after removing moisture and rolled it for about 30 seconds. I massaged areas such as my nose, where pores and blackheads concerned me, more thoroughly, then added a small amount of water to emulsify it until white and rinsed with lukewarm water.

- I applied the cleansing balm evenly to a dry face.
- I massaged it by rolling for about 30 seconds.
- I rolled it more on areas where pores and blackheads concerned me.
- I emulsified it with a small amount of water, then washed with lukewarm water.

The texture melted quickly at skin temperature, and color makeup came off as I rolled it. For me, my skin did not feel especially tight or red even after finishing cleansing with this one product, and it felt moisturizing afterward.

How did it feel on areas where blackheads were a concern?

I sometimes used charcoal nose packs or exfoliating care packs, but aside from the immediate feeling, I was concerned about irritation. I used this product during daily cleansing, rolling it mainly over my nose and areas where blackheads concerned me.

When I massaged areas such as my nose, where pores appeared more pronounced, I felt moisture rather than residual oiliness. However, changes in pores or breakouts can vary according to individual skin condition, so it is best to treat this only as my personal experience.

Who did it suit?

Having used cleansing gels, milks, and oils, I found the non-dripping balm texture and portability comfortable. It may be worth considering if you have oily skin, are concerned about makeup removal and blackheads, and want a feel with less tightness after washing.
