Apgujeong Rodeo hair salon 10-minute heating cap keratin: Biorn Hair

I get a magic straightening perm every 4 months or so, and lately my hair has been damaged by the strong sun — no matter how much I treated it at home, it just wouldn't recover. So I visited Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo!

What the salon looks like inside

The interior of Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo is in a white tone with black chairs, giving it a really clean feeling — even the floor was spotless, which is unusual for a hair salon.

And since it's on the 3rd floor with floor-to-ceiling windows, the view was gorgeous on a nice day. I sat by these windows a few times during the clinic, and even though it's a salon, it never felt stuffy — it actually put me in a good mood.

Why the inner keratin clinic for sun-damaged, straightened hair

The clinic I got was the inner keratin clinic. I'd had it before at another Biorn Hair branch and the results were so good that I wanted to try it again, this time at the Apgujeong Rodeo location!

I had plans that day so I did an air wrap blowout — since I always get a magic straightening perm, my hair can look fine on the surface!

But the lower part of my hair was all split and extremely dry. Especially after sleeping, the ends got even drier — it got to a point where it was really hard to manage ㅠㅠ

The person who took care of my hopeless hair today was designer Jisu! She explained everything thoroughly and gave me detailed advice about the state of my hair, which I really liked. She said that since my hair tends to be dry, it's good to do a clinic about once every 4 weeks to restore it.

The inner keratin clinic step by step

Detox shampoo, drinks and snacks

The first step of the inner keratin clinic was the shampoo room. There, they wash your hair with a detox shampoo first. They said the detox shampoo helps the hair care products absorb better afterward. What was also really nice was that the person washing my hair had such a great touch — it felt amazing. After finishing at the shampoo room and sitting down, you can choose a drink like green tea or coffee, and they serve a snack along with it.

I asked for iced green tea haha. They gave me mini yakgwa (honey cookie) and madeleines with it, which were perfect for when my mouth got bored.

Low-molecular keratin and 10 minutes under the heating cap

The next step was the heat treatment — before that, they fill in the damaged parts of the hair with low-molecular keratin protein!

Then, to help the protein absorb into the hair through heat, I wore a heating cap and had heat treatment for about 10 minutes. They adjust the time — 5, 10, or 15 minutes — depending on the damage level, and they said 10 minutes was best for me.

Steam and the massage-chair shampoo room

Next comes the steam step! This opens up the hair cuticles so absorption speeds up and the care lasts longer, apparently!!!

After that, I was led to a cozy space to wash out the heat-treated and steamed hair — and it turned out that chair, private as it was, was actually a massage chair! Lying down while they wash your hair and give you a massage at the same time... I immediately thought, I want to get this again often.

How the hair ends changed after the keratin clinic

Here's my hair fully dried after the clinic! It's clearly shinier, right? Seeing my hair looking so smooth and sleek made me happy. Even on video, the shine and bounce were noticeable!

The ends, which were my biggest worry, were noticeably less split and less prone to sticking out than before.
