Which rattan bag did I choose for a Southeast Asia trip?
While preparing for a Southeast Asia trip, I wanted something practical that would also go well with my outfits. Since it would be a bag I’d carry throughout the trip, storage mattered, and I wanted it to fit naturally with a resort feel too.

That’s how I ended up choosing the Meda Bag Women's Summer Rattan Shoulder Bag.

Mine arrived quickly, and the packaging was neat too. It came in a dust bag, which made it easy to store. The price also felt approachable, so I thought it could be a nice gift in another color for a friend traveling with me.

Does it work with everyday outfits beyond a resort trip?
Rather than using it only for the trip, I wanted a bag I could carry in Korea during the summer too. I liked that it held its shape without being overly stiff and had a design that suited everyday outfits.

I liked it even more in person than I did in the photos. It has that natural rattan feel, but the design is not overdone, so it went easily with dresses, linen pants, and denim.

Can you close the opening and separate your belongings?
One of the biggest reasons I chose it was the full zipper closure across the top. With open rattan bags, I worry about my belongings, and carrying an inner bag feels like extra hassle. This one closes with a zipper, so I thought it would be handy for carrying my things while traveling.

Inside, there are divided compartments that make it easy to organize smaller items. The overall size also felt roomy, so it seems like it would be good for carrying this and that at a destination.

How was the shoulder strap when the bag was packed?
The shoulder strap is not too thin, so even when I put in a lot of things, the weight felt less concentrated on my shoulder. I liked that the area touching the shoulder is fairly wide. I expect it would feel less burdensome even when carrying it for a long time on a trip with a drink or pouch inside.

What are the brown color and weave like?
It comes in beige and brown, and I chose brown because I thought it would go easily with my clothes. It has a natural tone, so I think I’ll reach for it often not only at a resort but in everyday summer life too.

The brown felt classic and calm. It also suited the natural resort mood I wanted.

The weave felt sturdy. Rather than drooping loosely, it held its shape to a certain degree, which made it feel secure; my first impression was that it was lightweight yet durable.

I especially liked how light the bag itself felt. I’m still only at the stage of looking it over before the trip, but I think it will feel less burdensome to carry for a long time. Once the weather warms up, it’s a design I’d like to carry comfortably in everyday life too.
