Weekend bakery date in Gangnam: melon salt bread, Bakerist Brown
In short
Bakerist Brown is a large bakery café in Gangnam, Seoul, with seating from B1 to the 3rd floor, tucked in the alley between Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 6 and Gangnam Station Exit 11. On a weekend date with her husband, the writer sat in the Bakerist Brown basement for the first time, browsed the melon salt bread, and had an Americano (₩6,500), a black sesame latte (₩7,800) and the new Gangnam Sand set (₩14,000). Bakerist Brown is on the pricey side, but the wide range of bread and roomy seats make it a satisfying date café near Gangnam Station.

Today is our Gangnam Station date day, just the two of us! The weather is great, so we're planning to date in a few different places besides Gangnam Station, and first I stopped by one of my favorite bakeries near Gangnam Station, the hot bakery café Bakerist Brown (베이커스트 브라운) ➿ Even after a long gap, it's always full of delicious bread and the coffee is great too, so it's perfect for a date ☕️
Where is Bakerist Brown, and what are its hours?
Bakerist Brown is toward Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 6, and it's open daily 11:00–22:30. From Gangnam Station Exit 11 / Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 6, head up toward the CGV building and you'll find it in the alley there.

This alley is one of my favorites! We're a couple who walk down it all the time because it's full of cafés and restaurants we love 🏡 And among the big cafés in this area, the one with seriously good bread is Bakerist Brown!
Is there enough seating at Bakerist Brown? The basement floor
Bakerist Brown has seating from the basement up to the 3rd floor, plus large tables for 10 or more people. It's popular, though, so especially on Saturdays you need to claim a seat first.

There are really a lot of tables, and it's just as popular as that suggests, as a bakery and café in one. The place is big, so the tables vary too, and above all there are large tables for 10 or more, so you can drink your coffee in comfort.

I always went up to the 2nd or 3rd floor for coffee, but this time I came down to the basement for the first time, and it's big too! Because it's underground, its tables fill up a bit later than the 2nd and 3rd floors, but on a Saturday around 3 p.m. even the basement was full ➿
Bakerist Brown bread: from melon salt bread to madeleines
Bakerist Brown has many kinds of salt bread (a buttery roll with a salty crust), and the melon salt bread was the most my style. There are also madeleines, fruit pastries, showcase cakes, pavlova and the new sands.

Ta-da! To rank near the top when you search for bakeries near Gangnam Station, you need looks like this ✨ They had lots of the salt bread I love, and above all the melon salt bread was totally my style.

The madeleines, from chocolate to crème brûlée to matcha, all look so tempting, and there's a good mix of fresh, sweet pastries with fruit too.

The showcase has cakes too, but there were more pastries with fruit than cakes! There was the pavlova I love, and they've just launched sands as a new dessert ✨

How much are drinks at Bakerist Brown?
Drinks at Bakerist Brown run from ₩6,500 for an Americano to ₩8,200 for the cream lattes. It's a big café in Gangnam Station, so prices are on the higher side.
- Americano ₩6,500
- Café latte ₩7,000
- Salt cream coffee ₩7,800
- Matcha cream latte ₩8,000
- Sweet potato cream latte / cream cheese latte ₩8,200
Croissants, pain au chocolat, salt bread, madeleines and more, so many good breads to have with coffee, which makes it a real treat for the mouth on a weekend date ➿

Americano: ₩6,500
The Bakerist Brown Americano is ₩6,500 and my husband's must-order ☕️ The Americano is the café's number one bestseller, and it's tasty! It's a big café in Gangnam Station so the price is up there, but the upside is that you can stay in comfort.

Black sesame latte: ₩7,800
The Bakerist Brown black sesame latte is ₩7,800, and it's my favorite of the signature coffee lineup. Lately I've been hooked on nutty lattes instead of iced vanilla lattes, and the black sesame latte is the real deal.
The black sesame cream is so smooth, nutty and rich that you're happy from the first sip. I wanted a bigger size to drink a bit more!!!!!

What is the new Gangnam Sand set at Bakerist Brown like?
The Bakerist Brown Gangnam Sand set is ₩14,000 and comes in 6 flavors. When I came this time, the sand menu had just launched, so I ordered it right away!
Today I wanted bread too, but it's a new menu item, so I had to try it! Sands are trending in every area these days, so is this going to be Gangnam Station's signature sand?! On top of that, they're elegant, with 6 flavors so you can enjoy a bit of everything, and they're perfect as a gift too 🍽️
