Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi is my number one dakgalbi (grilled marinated chicken) spot ever since I fell in love with it at a different branch out of town! This time, with my husband on vacation, I visited the Yangju branch with our 10-month-old baby. It's close to Lakewood CC in Yangju, so it's great to stop by after a round of golf, and thanks to the staff's thoughtful kindness and perfect flavor, we had such a comfortable and delicious time that I wanted to share it.
Where is Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yangju Branch, and is there parking?

Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yangju Branch is located at 211 Mansong-ro, 1st floor, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do. Hours are 11:00-21:00 with a break time from 15:00 to 16:00, and the dedicated parking lot is free.

Right in front of the store is a spacious dedicated parking area, so even new drivers or families can park comfortably without worry. Parking matters a lot when visiting with a baby, so being able to park right in front and walk straight in was such a relief.

Being located near Lakewood in Yangju, the accessibility was really good. Maybe that's why the walls inside the restaurant were packed with celebrity autographs!
Inside the restaurant: high chair setup and the self-bar

Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yangju Branch has a ventilation system at every table, so even though it's a charcoal grill place, there was almost no smoke or meat smell. Stepping inside, the interior was clean and pleasant overall, making it great for eating with a baby!

What touched me most was the service! As soon as we walked in with our baby, the staff immediately cleaned and set up a baby chair for us🤍 A lot of places just point you toward a baby chair or make you get it yourself, so this kind of thoughtful care right from the start was really moving.

Ordering was easy through the tablet installed at each table, so even while tending to the baby, I could take my time picking out what I wanted.

The basic side dishes served neatly include lettuce, garlic, ssamjang, radish salad, yeolmu kimchi, cabbage pickles, and dongchimi broth.

On one side of the restaurant there's a well-equipped, hygienic self-bar, so it was convenient to freely grab more side dishes, fresh vegetables, or cool dongchimi broth without feeling awkward about it.
Charcoal dakgalbi grilled entirely by the staff

The dakgalbi at Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi comes pre-cooked once in the kitchen for easier eating, but the best part is that a staff member comes to the table and grills all of the meat for you themselves!
Eating out with a baby usually means chaos — flipping meat, dodging smoke — but here, they grilled everything to a perfect golden brown in bite-sized pieces, so all I had to do was tend to the baby and pick up food to eat. So convenient.
Made only with domestic chicken thigh meat, it was juicy with a subtle charcoal aroma, showing off exactly the savory, tender quality that made it my favorite place to begin with.

How to pour dongchimi broth into bibim makguksu
The mul makguksu (cold buckwheat noodle soup) at Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi has a cool pine-nut broth base, and since the buckwheat noodles are freshly made in-house, they have a rich, nutty flavor. I was in the mood for something spicy that day, so I ordered the bibim (spicy mixed) version!

Adding a little vinegar and mustard makes it taste clean and refreshing, and wrapping a golden, well-grilled piece of charcoal dakgalbi around a bite of noodles was simply the best.
My own tip for enjoying makguksu even more! If you like a savory, umami-rich broth, order the bibim makguksu and then pour in some cool dongchimi broth from the self-bar. The tangy-sweet mixed sauce blends with the deep umami of the dongchimi to create a truly delicious dongchimi bibim makguksu!
Verdict after dining with a 10-month-old
The spacious parking lot, the clean and pleasant interior, the touching baby chair care, and dakgalbi grilled entirely for us — I don't think I've ever eaten out this comfortably and happily with a 10-month-old. If you're near Lakewood or Mansong-dong in Yangju and want to enjoy delicious charcoal dakgalbi comfortably with a baby or family, I highly recommend this place!
