Yangju galbi house with mom and sister: ₩6,000 brisket stew, Manpo

As a total galbi lover.. I'm going to share my review of Manpo Garden (만포가든), because it was sooo good!

What are the parking and atmosphere like at Manpo Garden Yangju?

Manpo Garden's Yangju main branch has plenty of parking in front, so it's easy to come by car, and it's open daily 11:00–22:00. I heard it's been famous as a company dinner spot in Yangju for a long time!

When I arrived, the size of the building was clearly something else! Even from outside you can feel that hearty barbecue-restaurant vibe, and the sign stands out, so there was no trouble finding it, haha. With plenty of parking out front, I could visit without worrying about it~ Finding a place with easy parking when you're looking for somewhere to eat in Yangju is surprisingly hard, so I was really happy about this!

Manpo Garden goes up to the 2nd floor, with wide spacing between seats so you can eat in privacy, and the 1st floor was sooo spacious and clean too!

How much is the handmade galbi at Manpo Garden, and how big are 3 servings?

Handmade galbi (marinated beef short ribs) at Manpo Garden is ₩19,000 per serving, and every order comes with free cold noodles. That day I had 3 servings with my mom and sister, and it was just the right amount for three of us to get nicely full.

When I found out cold noodles come free too, it was a total win~ The price is so kind.. and the portions are kind too..

Banchan with yukhoe and yukjeon, and how the galbi tastes

The banchan at Manpo Garden come out neatly, and yukhoe (beef tartare) and yukjeon (pan-fried beef slices) come free too. And you can really tell the galbi was massaged and seasoned by hand, because the juiciness was seriously crazy T_T

The number of side dishes was just right and the seasoning wasn't harsh, so it felt like nothing got in the way of the meat's own flavor! The smell the moment it hit the grill.. the three of us started grilling without saying a word.. grumble..!

The galbi isn't salty and has a subtle sweetness, the kind you keep reaching for! The meat itself was tender too, so it was easy to chew. The quality felt even overall, so I think everyone at a big gathering would be equally satisfied, and I'd recommend it for group meetups in Yangju! In fact, besides our table, I saw quite a lot of group tables with many people together~

How was the ₩6,000 beef brisket doenjang jjigae?

The beef brisket doenjang jjigae at Manpo Garden is ₩6,000 and it's packed with brisket. I ordered it because I wanted it, and the portion.. I could not believe it was ₩6,000!

Mix in rice and the whole earthenware pot disappears in no time! It wasn't bland, and the seasoning was just right. They also had sulbap (rice cooked with alcohol), but I decided to try that next time~ haha

And of course food this good needs soju~ Mom and I had a yummy drink. My mom, who really knows her food, raved that it was delicious. Even my picky sister^^.. said it was good, haha. Me, I eat everything anyway.. I want to eat it again.. even as I write this.. haha

Can you refill the ssam vegetables and banchan at Manpo Garden?

Manpo Garden has plenty of extra banchan, and you can refill the lettuce, chili peppers and garlic stems, all of it. Thanks to that, I never ran short..

I'm a person who absolutely must wrap ssam (meat wrapped in leaves) whenever I eat meat.. so running out of wraps is a no-no~ dame dame!!!

Finishing with free cold noodles and puffed-rice ice cream

After 3 servings of handmade galbi I was really full~! And at the end I cleared the free cold noodles too! The sweet-and-sour sauce wiped out the greasiness, a perfect finish!! The quality was so good it could pass as a main-dish naengmyeon (cold noodles)!

At Manpo Garden you can have puffed-rice ice cream after you pay. Seriously.. I'm full, but I can't resist this! lol But if you pile in too much ice cream it won't fit in your mouth, so careful, careful! Just put in a moderate amount~

My sister and mom had one each, yay~ Little details like this really boost my wish to come back.. When I searched, there were an unusual number of revisit reviews too! That means it's a place that keeps up its satisfaction.

Is Manpo Garden Yangju good value?

Manpo Garden's Yangju main branch has good meat quality, thoughtful service details and easy parking, so overall it was a satisfying visit! The price wasn't too much of a burden for 3 servings, and counting the free cold noodles and ice cream, I felt the value wasn't bad either!
