What is Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch, the lamb restaurant near Bucheon City Hall Station?

Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch is a reservation-only restaurant specializing in lamb, near Bucheon City Hall Station. I had no idea there was a place near City Hall Station that does lamb this seriously, and the atmosphere and the quality of the meat were both so good! If you're looking for a Bucheon City Hall restaurant or a good date spot, I have to recommend this one.

Since Ichiryu runs on reservations, everything was already set up when we arrived at our booked time. The table was tidy and clean, and I was really happy with that.

At Ichiryu we ordered the raw chuck flap (생살치살) and the raw lamb ribs (생양갈비). The chuck flap is ₩32,000 and the lamb ribs are ₩33,000. We looked at the menu as soon as we walked in and ordered right away!

I got extra curious when I heard the soup curry is limited to just 7 bowls a day. There's also a combo that includes soup curry, so ordering that way looks like a good option too.

The crunchy, tangy white kimchi and chili pickles that came as basic sides went perfectly with the lamb.

How do the fresh lamb ribs at Ichiryu taste?

Our raw lamb ribs and raw chuck flap came out. The color was such a bright, glowing red that you could tell at a glance they use good ingredients.

Maybe because the lamb ribs at Ichiryu are fresh, not frozen, the meat was really tender and moist. The nutty aroma rises the moment it hits the grill, and my expectations shot up. The outside is golden and the inside stays juicy, so the juices spread as you chew. It keeps the distinctive flavor of lamb but I barely noticed any gamey smell, so even lamb beginners should be able to eat it without worry.

With the ribs especially, it's fun to gnaw the meat off around the bone, and the richness kept me reaching for more. Dipped lightly in salt or the side sauce, the flavor came out even more, and the rich juices filling my mouth were so satisfying.

I never expected every single bite to feel this precious and this happy~ Ichiryu is the kind of healing meal spot you should visit regularly. A bite of meat with soju, beer, or whatever you like to drink would be even better, right!

Does Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch grill the vegetables and bean sprout tower too?

At Ichiryu, the staff grill not just the meat but also green onion, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, onion, and eggplant, so it's great to alternate them with the meat. No gamey smell, it melts right into your mouth, the juices fill your mouth, and it's tender~ I'd recommend it as lamb that pretty much anyone can enjoy.

Lastly, they grill a tall tower of bean sprouts, and it stayed crunchy and was delicious too!! They also pick the meat off the lamb rib bones nicely and leave a bone "handle" so you can gnaw on it at the end, which makes it easy to eat.

Fresh lamb ribs vs chuck flap: what's the difference?

If the raw lamb ribs at Ichiryu are the lighter but deeply flavored choice, the raw chuck flap is the one that satisfies with a soft texture and plenty of juice. Each has its own charm, so I was really glad we ordered both. The meat felt fresh, and the staff even took care with the grilling timing, so we could eat comfortably.

I'd recommend it to lamb lovers, of course, and also to anyone who wants to try lamb! Next time I'll order some of the side dishes that go well with it and enjoy it as a full course~

Is Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch a good spot for a date?

Ichiryu was full, packed with people, and I can see why. It's a nice space for chatting while you eat, and the friendly, homey interior made me happy. It also felt cozy and intimate, so I recommend it for dates too.
