Spark oil change at Smile Auto in Incheon

I got the engine oil changed on my Spark at Smile Auto (스마일자동차공업사) on Hachon-ro in Namdong-gu, Incheon. They're always friendly and explain everything well every time I come, so I'll be going back for my next oil change too.

Is there somewhere to relax while you wait?

There's a rest area next to the garage, so I could leave the car and wait with some light refreshments 💕 It's hot these days, so it was nice to have a cold drink~!

Do they push you to repair an engine oil leak?

Smile Auto can change engine oil, transmission oil and brake oil for imported cars as well as domestic ones. And even if you only come for an engine oil change, they look over the overall condition of the car.

So they told me the engine oil had started to leak, and that if it ever drips onto the ground, it needs to be fixed right away. They said to just be aware that the leak has started. They didn't tell me to get it fixed, and explained the car's current condition in an easy-to-understand way, which I loved haha.

Fixing the leak completely would cost over ₩500,000, which is a burden, so they said to get it checked anywhere when I have the time ㅠㅠㅠㅠ Honestly, as someone who knows nothing about cars, if they'd told me I had to fix it right now, I would have done it even though it's a lot of money, so I really appreciated that they didn't!!!!!!!

They compared it to something I don't know about, an apartment terrace, and I got it instantly haha. Comparing it to terrace silicone sealant made it click right away hahahaha.

How much did the Spark oil change cost?

At Smile Auto, the Spark's engine oil change was a base ₩65,000. Before starting, they showed me the oil they'd use today haha. For an extra fee you can switch to a slightly higher-grade oil, so keep that in mind!

Washer fluid refill service

They also filled up my washer fluid during the oil change. It was almost empty anyway, so I was glad. They even asked whether my friend, who also has a car, wanted hers topped up as a service. I was so touched! They really look after washer fluid separately ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

How did the oil change go?

The new one is on the left and the used one is on the right. When I gasped, they said there's plenty that's dirtier than this and that this one's still clean haha. Throughout the oil change, they explained every step carefully and in detail, which I liked. I only had the filter replaced, but I already feel refreshed.

They drain the old engine oil, and the remaining residue is removed by inserting a long thin tube.

They showed me the new and used oil side by side too.

Lifting the car for a full underbody check

Usually my car is always down low, but this time they lifted it up and checked it over. They said a sponge (cushion) on the rear wheel had come off, and sure enough, the left and right ones really were different hahahaha.

When they pour in the new engine oil, they start the engine now and then and check how far it's filled.

After the oil was all swapped out, I felt fresh. Smile Auto also writes the next oil change time on the car's upper part, so I'll check it whenever I look at my mileage and come back!
