Exterior and interior on a rainy day

It rained the day we went, so I couldn't take exterior photos and sneakily borrowed the shop's own photo haha ☔ The outside was so unique and pretty ✨ You can really see the owner's sense of style!

This is the inside. Unlike the exterior, the interior has a calm, wood-toned feel.

"Potatoes: domestic. Staff: purely domestic"... lol. It's an origin sign that shows off the owner's funny sense of humor.

Wow, there were celebrity autographs on the cups and lots of photos on the walls!! Seeing all those signatures, I felt more and more that this really is a legit Sokcho favorite.

What did we order at Sokcho Bultan Gamja Bread?

We ordered 2 packs of the signature Bultan potato bread (불탄 감자빵), the most famous item here! The menu lists various coffee drinks, teas and other beverages, and the showcase had organic sodas in several flavors.

They also sell other drinks and water, plus oranda (아란다, a crunchy grain snack) made with jocheong (grain syrup) and yuja (citron) instead of the usual kind, and jjondeugi (쫀드기, chewy dried snack) made with Sokcho specialties!

How did the Bultan potato bread taste?

Each box had 4 pieces. The wrapper is so cute, eek 😍😍 Since it's "Bultan" (burnt), the character is a little charcoal-black too haha

The bread has a cute little dotted eye. I split one in half to share with my husband, and I was shocked by how chewy it was, and shocked again by how full the filling was!!

The bread is very chewy, and the inside is potato flavor + cream cheese? That was the kick of the Bultan potato bread!! Chewy bread, soft and nutty filling, a more upscale taste than any potato bread I'd had before 😍

One box gone in the car, the rest for my mother-in-law

The box even has instructions on how to enjoy it best. The owner's sense is amazing! Hehe Oh, and you can order by delivery too, so keep that in mind if you want some!

We didn't even get to microwave it — we ate a whole box in the car lol I'm bringing the other box to my mother-in-law, who lives nearby haha Good food tastes even better shared, right? Hehe

Addictive bread! Shouldn't it be called drug potato bread instead of Bultan potato bread? This is seriously dangerous bread.. lol Top-notch flavor 👍👍
