What is Angry Potato Hyundai Department Store Jungdong Branch like?

Angry Potato is a fresh-potato snack brand that went viral on social media when it held a pop-up at Hyundai Department Store Bucheon last year. It now runs as a regular shop at the Jungdong branch, so I went to try the 100% fresh-potato snacks I'd been so curious about, haha~

The Angry Potato chicken and burger counter is on B1 of Hyundai Department Store Jungdong near Bucheon City Hall Station, right in front of the up escalator. It's a great-value snack spot~

Besides fries, it's also a good place to grab a date-night snack to go or to eat a light meal solo!

What is on the Angry Potato menu?

Angry Potato's potato menu is made from 100% fresh potatoes, and there are as many as 8 kinds of fries topped with recommended sauce combos. They range from spicy ones to kids' options~ There are also fresh potato fries, chewy potatoes, fresh potato chips, and a Po-Shake to eat with a shake.

Beyond potatoes, they sell Hot Crunch chicken, chili cheese sticks, and chicken, double beef and whole shrimp mini burgers~

How does the free refill sauce bar at Angry Potato work?

Order at Angry Potato, then head to the pickup counter, where free refill sauces hang in a row. Being able to use these sauces as much as you like is Angry Potato's big selling point~

You can customize the sauce on any menu item to your taste, so you get lots of different flavors at this Bucheon City Hall Station spot~

The food was neatly packed in special containers. If you're eating there, use the tables in front of the shop; for takeout, fill your sauces yourself at the self bar. For takeout you just buy a sauce container and fill it as much as you like!

I ordered three items at Angry Potato in Hyundai Department Store Bucheon~

Mini burger skewer: 3 burger flavors at once

As the name says, the Angry Potato mini burger skewer puts 3 mini burgers on a skewer~ They're tiny like hamburger miniatures, so sooo cute, haha. When you can't pick just one burger, one skewer lets you taste 3 of them, haha!

• Chicken burger: juicy chicken thigh
• Double beef burger: 2 beef patties!
• Whole shrimp burger: bouncy shrimp patty

The brioche bun was so nutty and rich too. They're small but properly made burgers, and I enjoyed them~

The mini burger skewer comes with 1 dipping sauce, and I picked ranch-tar. This sauce is crazy...! I'm sure everything at Angry Potato, not just the burgers, would taste great dipped in it!

5 pieces of Hot Crunch chicken with 3 sauces

You can tell just by looking that Angry Potato's Hot Crunch chicken is totally crispy! Golden and crunchy outside, juicy~~ chicken thigh inside, so it was exactly my taste.

The 3 sauces I brought from the sauce bar to go with the chicken were wasabi mayo, sriracha mayo and sweet chili. The sweet chili was good too, but as a mayo person my number one is sriracha mayo! Wasabi mayo is my second recommendation~ Angry Potato is a total sauce paradise, so next time I want to have fries as a snack piled with lots of sauce!

Can potato chips: big fresh potato chips in a can

Angry Potato's chips are fresh chips fried from 100% fresh potatoes~ They're said to be pure chips with no chemical additives, so they make a good snack~ They're big, so they come in a can, which would be nice to carry to a movie date. I like potato chips, but I also picked them because I wanted the can, haha.

The chips are big, almost none are broken, the salt level is just right, and they're super thin and crunchy~~ The kind you finish a whole can of in one sitting.

Which sauce goes best with the can potato chips at Angry Potato?

Ranch-tar sauce went best with the can chips at Angry Potato. I dipped them in every sauce and all were good, but ranch-tar must be the all-purpose sauce. It was sooo good that I scraped the container clean with the chips, haha. I thought I'd stretch the can over a few days, but it was an empty can in one day..
