Pizza E Michida Konkuk University Branch (피자에미치다 건대점) is a great-value open-air pizza spot near Konkuk Univ. Station where you can have pizza and beer on the terrace with slushy draft beer for just ₩1,900. During last week's long holiday, I went all out at Children's Grand Park with my kid, then headed to Konkuk Univ. for pizza.

The wood-fired pizza and pasta menus both have lots of choices, and with the cool weather these days, pizza and pasta on the terrace is just perfect. As an opening event, draft beer is ₩1,900 for 250ml and ₩3,900 for 500ml, so it's easy to enjoy pizza and beer without worrying about the bill. It's a university area, so prices really are cheap, haha.

What is the terrace atmosphere like?

The slushy draft beer at Pizza E Michida is ₩1,900. That's a beer cheaper than an Americano, right at this restaurant. There's a proper terrace set up beside the restaurant, and the place feels like eating pizza in Rome. The interior is full of Italian vibes, which really stood out.

All the pizzas here run from the ₩10,000s to the low ₩20,000s, and most are in the ₩10,000s. Does that mean they're small? Not at all, one is plenty for two people. Being able to order right away by QR code is convenient too. The pizza lineup is really varied: salsa sauce pizza, tomato pizza, mac and cheese bacon jalapeño, pepperoni aglio e olio, Philly cheese BBQ steak and more.

Slushy draft beer (opening event, 500ml ₩3,900)

Worn out from parenting, I ordered a glass of slushy draft beer. Pizza and beer is the truth, after all. I ordered the pizza half-half, and I loved that half-half is an option.

How do the Philly cheese BBQ steak and five-cheese half-half pizza taste?

I ordered half Philly cheese BBQ steak pizza, the restaurant's No. 2 ranked pizza, and half five-cheese pizza. The five-cheese pizza is called that because it uses five kinds of cheese, including mozzarella, gouda, cheddar and mascarpone.

The five-cheese pizza combines the distinct flavor of each cheese into an even deeper, richer cheese pizza, which I loved. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes cheese pizza. The Philly cheese BBQ steak pizza, a combination of cheese and BBQ steak, was one almost anyone would like.

How was the ricotta shrimp tomato pasta (₩13,900)?

Wow... ₩13,900 is a crazy price. The ricotta cheese shrimp tomato pasta is a tomato pasta piled with ricotta. It has loads of shrimp and black olives, plus arugula, which I love, so it was a delicious pasta at a price I could hardly believe.

Since it's a pizza place, I didn't expect much from the pasta, but if you go to Pizza E Michida I'd really recommend one pizza and one pasta. The pasta ingredients were so generous that I was happy with it.

How much should two adults order?

If two adults visit Pizza E Michida, even one pizza is surprisingly filling. You have to save room for the beer belly, after all. They also light a candle so the pizza stays warm and doesn't go cold. Maybe because the beer is so cheap, everyone seemed to be enjoying pizza and beer on the terrace.

The pizza and pasta are made with no skimping on ingredients, so of course they taste good, yet the price is in the ₩10,000s. I was honestly amazed at prices around Konkuk Univ.

Is this Konkuk Univ. terrace pizza spot worth going back to?

The beer is cheap and the pizza and pasta are cheap too, but unlike the low prices, the ingredients are very generous, so Pizza E Michida Konkuk University Branch is a seriously good-value pizza place. I'm 100% planning to go again. I'd recommend it as a budget-friendly date dinner spot around Konkuk Univ.
