Gwangjin café ice cream cups for date dessert: Beurre Beurre

My boyfriend and I often come to Konkuk University for dates, and since we had already finished dinner and the weather was getting cooler, I found myself craving a dessert. So we headed over to the newly opened Beurre Beurre (뵈르뵈르), which is apparently establishing itself as a go-to ice cream spot around Konkuk University. I was so excited!

How long does it take to get to Beurre Beurre from Konkuk University Station?

Beurre Beurre is about a three-minute walk from Exit 6 of Konkuk University Station on Line 2, so it is quite easy to get to.

The atmosphere inside the Konkuk Rodeo Branch

When I first walked in, it was so flashy and hip—perfect for the Konkuk Rodeo area—that I almost wondered if it was a fast-food restaurant. Then I saw the ice cream lined up in front of me and thought, oh right, this is that great Konkuk University ice cream spot!

I looked at the cute mascot characters drawn on the clean walls, and although the place seems small, the interior is packed with thoughtful details, so my eyes were going la la la~ everywhere. They say the interior is inspired by a classic American diner and expressed with a retro mood. 🇺🇸

Since Beurre Beurre is a dessert shop, from the outside I thought there might not be anywhere to sit and eat. But there are about two tables along one wall, making it a nice little spot to sit and chat over dessert on a date or after a meal.

From ice cream to coffee and bingsu on the menu

As I looked over the menu, I found not only ice cream but chewy cone and cup ice cream, coffee, shakes, bingsu (shaved ice dessert), and all sorts of desserts. I ended up reading the whole thing closely. 📝

Seeing that the prices vary by size, my first thought was, huh...? Is this kind of like Baskin-Robbins? It felt similar somehow. 😲 Since the weather was hot, we preferred cups, which are easier to eat than cones.

True to its reputation as a Konkuk University ice cream spot, there were so many flavors. At first, I stood there blankly for a while because I had no idea what to order, but the signs explained each flavor and even noted which genders tend to like them, which was actually helpful for a beginner haha.

An Americano for ₩1,900! Even inexpensive coffee shops do not usually charge this little, so it seems they may be running an opening event. ☕️

Konkuk University Station gets quite a lot of international tourists, and the kiosk lets you order in various languages. That kind of thoughtfulness is so good. 👄

Seeing all the different varieties in the refrigerator below somehow made them look even more appetizing. They weigh the ice cream as they scoop it in, and all I could think was, just a little... just a little more, please, owner! 😅

Mellow Mango and Nutty Peanut Butter single cups

We ordered single cups (4.7): Mellow Mango and Nutty Peanut Butter.

Mellow Mango was said to be the number-one favorite among women, so I thought it would not be too polarizing and ordered it. My boyfriend already loves peanut butter, so he picked his flavor the moment he saw the menu without any hesitation.

You can have a one-bite tasting, so I chose the new I Love So Matcha. It has a bittersweet matcha flavor with chocolate notes, and I think matcha lovers would enjoy it! 💚

🥜 Nutty Peanut Butter was a delicious balance of nutty, sweet, and salty flavors. Does not its color make it look like there might be chocolate in it?

There is a reason it is a best menu item~ Even the texture was incredibly chewy... Is Beurre Beurre like gelato with a chewy texture?

🍈🥭 Mellow Mango combines fragrant melon with sweet mango, with just the right level of sweetness for a sugar boost. I can see why it was the number-one favorite among women hehe.

They use premium French butter with 82% milk fat to create a rich flavor and substantial texture. Next time, I am curious about the other desserts too, so I will have to revisit Beurre Beurre, this great Konkuk University ice cream spot :)
