When I arrived at around 12:30 on a weekday, Brothers Yangpyeong Naechon Branch was already close to full. The place is big with lots of tables, but customers filled it all the way to the back. The moment we walked in: a full house. How good must it be..?

A big dining hall and an easy parking lot, and yet it was packed from lunchtime. I'd had a spicy night of drinks with my partner the day before, and craving hot broth for a hangover is basically the rule, right? So we headed to the famous Pocheon hangover soup spot, Brothers Yangpyeong Naechon Branch.

We got in around 12:30 and it was already nearly full of customers.. Even with that many tables, people filled it to the back, so I can't even tell how good this place must be,,

The tables are spaced fairly generously and the whole place feels spacious. It's comfortable even with a bigger group, so it's a great spot for a family meal or a hearty bite before or after a round of golf!

What about parking at Brothers Yangpyeong Naechon Branch?

There's a large parking lot behind the building, so it was easy to use. Parking matters a lot in Pocheon, where you get around by car, right? It's also close to Hallim Gwangneung CC, Gwangneung Arboretum, Gomo-ri and Seoundongsan, so it seemed like a good stop when you're looking for a meal on a Pocheon drive or trip, or a restaurant near Hallim Gwangneung CC~

How were the taste and portion of the 1++ hanwoo beef hangover soup?

The Boyang 1++ hanwoo beef hangover soup at Brothers Yangpyeong Naechon Branch is ₩13,000, and it was one earthenware bowl (ttukbaegi) so loaded with dried radish greens, bean sprouts and hanwoo that it never seemed to shrink no matter how much I ate. You order easily on the tablet at each table.

Table seasonings and side dishes

On one side of the table there were special pickled chili, perilla seed powder and chili oil so you can adjust the flavor to your taste.

The side dishes were napa cabbage kimchi and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), and why is the kimchi so good..?

Crunchy kimchi on top of hot hangover soup is just the combo Koreans love.

The black garlic bone broth

And finally, the Pocheon hangover soup arrived, bubbling away -! The hanwoo beef soup was piled with bean sprouts and dried radish greens, with big pieces of beef in between..

I took a sip of the broth right away, and wow-!!! INSANE, JMT (super delicious)!!! Ah.. this is what a hangover cure is..

Maybe because black garlic is added to the bone broth, the soup itself is deep and rich but not heavy or greasy. The richly simmered meat broth is joined by the refreshing taste of the radish greens and bean sprouts.

I heard that Brothers Yangpyeong boils its own offal and sun-geol (congealed ox blood) and adds black garlic to the bone broth for a rich flavor~ So if you like other hangover soups with blood or offal, the menu looks wide enough for you. (My partner said after finishing, "I should have ordered the black garlic restorative offal soup..")

In the beef soup I ordered, the hanwoo especially stuck with me. It pulls apart so tenderly you can see the grain of the meat, and it wasn't dry at all, it soaked up the broth and was moist and easy to eat!

A generous portion that never seemed to shrink

And what really surprised me was the generous portion.. We ordered the standard one, and from the moment it arrived the earthenware bowl was filled to the brim.

I kept scooping and it just didn't go down.. Can you see? I took this photo in the middle of eating, and there's still this much..?

And whatever kind of bowl they use, it kept steaming for ages even after I'd been eating a long time. As someone who loves hot broth, I love this.. (๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑) After I added rice and finished the whole bowl.. I was seriously about to burst.

I came for a hangover cure and felt like I got a restorative meal too. It's perfect when you're craving a hot Pocheon hangover soup.

Next to the entrance, Brothers Yangpyeong Naechon Branch sets out instant coffee, Americano and cold slush misutgaru (a multigrain drink) as after-meal drinks. I spotted them just as we were leaving! After polishing off a hot bowl of soup I wanted something a little cool, and being able to grab a drink at the end felt like a proper finish.
