On a Friday evening, we decided to have a family dinner out for the first time in a while. My elementary-school daughter has always loved salmon and sushi, so choosing where to go wasn't hard this time. We headed to Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, where she could eat her fill of sushi and we adults could enjoy a wide variety of dishes too.
Plus, unlimited draft beer?! Sign us up right away!!

After this visit, I found it a great spot for a family dinner in several ways, so I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a family gathering restaurant in Nowon!
The atmosphere and group seating at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch
Every time I come to Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, I feel how pleasant and clean it is — it just puts me in a good mood. With its bright, cozy natural wood and white tones and its spacious layout, you can eat with plenty of room to spare!
It also gets a lot of family meals and gatherings, so it felt like a comfortable place to eat with a child. There's a room-like private space tucked inside the table seating area, which seemed like it would be great for family birthdays, relative gatherings, or any kind of special group event.
So I thought this wasn't just a place to grab sushi — it's also a great spot for a Nowon family gathering restaurant or family event venue.

Prices and parking at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch
Please check the in-store price board for weekday lunch and dinner, weekend prices, and rates for elementary school kids and preschoolers!
Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is located on the 6th floor of the Seoul Oncheon Building. There's a parking lot entrance behind the building. We drove there too, and had to go around back to find the parking entrance. With 2 hours of free parking, it felt like a low-pressure choice for a family dinner out.
A draft beer counter greets you right at the entrance — Terra and Kelly, free
Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch greets you with a draft beer counter right from the entrance. Not Filite — real draft beer, Terra and Kelly, and it's free!!

We scanned the cool beer first, and as soon as we were seated, we excitedly went to pile our plates high.
The sushi and sashimi corner right in front
This was basically a dinner tailored to my daughter, who's always loved sushi and salmon — and the upgraded sushi and the raw salmon sashimi corner were both hugely satisfying.
The raw salmon sashimi corner
A raw salmon sashimi corner that apparently isn't even at the Gold branch. Not just fresh salmon, but assorted mulhoe (raw fish in cold broth), soy sauce shrimp, soy sauce crab, red seabream, yellowfin tuna — all these premium raw fish dishes in one place. Such a satisfying corner.

Between the sushi and the sashimi, you can enjoy salmon in a whole range of different ways.
Upgraded sushi — flounder, salmon, shrimp sushi
The popular flounder and salmon sushi now come with bigger cuts of fish than before, so you get a generous piece of fish that outsizes the rice in every bite, and the shrimp sushi made with botan shrimp adds even more flavor.

With so many varieties of rolls and sushi types, this Nowon sushi buffet lets you enjoy a bit of everything all at once.

One plate from our first round at the sushi corner. As expected, my daughter started with salmon sashimi as a little appetizer, haha. We also piled up a whole plate of gunkan (battleship) sushi.
The drink lineup — slushies, ube latte, 12 kinds of herbal tea
This Nowon Kuu Kuu is great for the variety of drinks that go with the sushi buffet too. There are raspberry and gold kiwi slushies to cool off in the summer heat, plum juice for easy digestion, and even sikhye and the currently trendy ube latte.

There are even 12 kinds of herbal tea, perfect to pair with dessert!!

New LA-style short ribs, smoked dishes, and lamb ribs
The newly launched LA-style short ribs and chewy smoked dishes. LA short ribs are something I crave once in a while, but they're a hassle to make at home and pricey to order as a single dish, so I was happy to try them here at the Nowon branch.

So tender!!
Lamb ribs full of flavor
I love lamb skewers and lamb ribs alike, and the seasoning here was so good with such a tender texture that I went back for it several times. Since it's a new item at Kuu Kuu, I highly recommend it.

I also tried the mala shrimp and the crowd-pleasing chili shrimp and cream shrimp.

In between, I also worked through a good variety of salads, haha.
Steamed clams, mala soup, and shiitake samgyetang
There's steamed clams and mala tang, which kids love, so anyone craving a hot soup dish should be satisfied too.

For summer stamina, you can also get samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), a must during the dog days of summer, at this Nowon Kuu Kuu. Eating out, but healthy!!
The fried and Korean snack corner, plus ang-croute soup
The fried food corner, which would be a shame to skip, had ppuringkeul (seasoned fried chicken), french fries, cheese sticks, and corn dogs. We also grabbed a bite or two of the Korean snack items.
There's also a warm ang-croute soup, where you tear off pieces of pastry and dip them into the soup inside — kept hot on a maekbansuk (elvan) stone slab.

Uljin red snow crab pasta and vongole pasta
I generally love pasta, but the Uljin red snow crab pasta was especially exceptional! Soft, savory — I ate a whole plate of just this one.
After busily refilling my plate three or four more times,

it was time for dessert.
Fruit and cake, bead ice cream, and chocolate fondue
The fruit corner has so many varieties it runs out quickly, but it gets restocked fast too, so you can cleanse your palate with a range of fruit.
The ice cream corner for dessert had 7 kinds of ice cream, plus bead ice cream added on separately this time.

The popular bead ice cream — not just kids, but a lot of adults were eating it too.
A chocolate fountain that looks sweet just to look at! We dipped in some marshmallows too. There's also cereal on hand for the kids' meals.
After finishing off with coffee and some sweet desserts,

we had a really fun Friday family dinner. If my daughter ever asks for sushi or salmon again, I'll definitely be back here for a family meal out! For sushi, sashimi, the new menu items, and unlimited beer, I recommend Kuu Kuu, a Nowon favorite.
