Hyoeunok Gyeongju Branch is a Korean restaurant in Gyeongju's Bomun district built around beef rib hot pot. As the first meal of a Gyeongju trip, the writer and a friend met at Gyeongju Station and ordered the Ppyeoberest Original 5-piece set for two at spice level 0, a clear broth, eating through galbi, beef brisket shabu-shabu, kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) and gondre (mountain vegetable) porridge, with tiger yuzu makgeolli alongside. With no harsh seasoning, the milky broth drawn from the ribs tasted like a restorative tonic meal — a satisfying way to start the trip.
