Jinsim Wang Donkatsu Cheonan Buldang is a giant pork cutlet restaurant on the first floor of M Tower in Buldang-dong, Cheonan. On a return visit with her 5-year-old, the writer ordered the Jinsim Wang Donkatsu at 10,900 won, shrimp tempura udon at 8,900 won and cold soba (buckwheat noodles) at 8,900 won for 28,700 won total, and all three arrived in under 10 minutes with the sauce served on the side for the child's cutlet. Between the baby chair, kids' tableware, self-serve bar and basement parking, Jinsim Wang Donkatsu Cheonan Buldang is an easy pick for a family meal.

Cheonan garden café with a happy hour brunch set: Pino Cafe Cheonan

Pino Cafe Cheonan is a large brunch café with a 3,000-pyeong garden below Mt. Taehaksan in Pungse-myeon, Cheonan. On a Monday morning date, we walked the garden and the Romantic Camp-Picnic tent zone, ordered the croissant sandwich platter (17,000 won) and aglio e olio (15,000 won), and looked around the modern new annex. With the weekday 11am–2pm happy hour set at 12,000–13,000 won, brunch at Pino Cafe stays easy on the wallet.

Cheonan budae-jjigae restaurant at the 11am opening: Cheongwon Sikdang

Cheongwon Restaurant: Cooking Budae-jjigae, Cheonan Dujeong Main Branch is a budae-jjigae (army stew) specialist in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan. A couple coming from a hospital visit walked in right at the 11:00 opening, ordered two servings of Cheongwon budae-jjigae with glass noodle and cheese add-ons, and finished two bowls of rice thanks to the self-serve bar's unlimited rice and ramyeon noodles. The broth at Cheongwon Sikdang is sharp but not harsh, and the beef brisket, ham and sausage make the early lunch worth arriving at opening.
