Family dinner with kids and non-alcoholic beer: Widaehan Jogae Jeongol

Widaehan Jogae Jeongol is a clam hot pot and seafood kalguksu restaurant on the main road of Daehak-ro in Yongun-dong, Dong-gu, Daejeon. Visiting with kids, the writer ordered clam hot pot for two, 7,500 won clam kalguksu, and non-alcoholic beer, with the kitchen making the noodles mild and serving the cheongyang chili peppers on the side so the whole family could eat comfortably. With a baby chair, parking out back, and a cheese-topped clay pot as the surprise hit, it's an easy family dinner spot to recommend.

New Daejeon burger restaurant with T-shirt merch: Burgiz Daeheung

Burgiz Daeheung is a newly opened branch of a handmade burger brand that started in Daejeon in 2017, in the alley beside Sariwon Myeonok near Jung-ang-ro Station, right in front of the Daejeon Lifelong Learning Center. The visit covered four burgers — Cheese, Hangover, Godfather and Mushroom — in an American-style room that also sells burger T-shirt merch, with unlimited drinks on set orders. Burgiz Daeheung is walking distance from Sungsimdang, which makes it an easy pick for a Daeheung-dong date or a meal with friends.
