Bantiannyao Kaoyu Daejeon Branch is a Chinese grilled-fish restaurant in Dunsan-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, tucked behind Galleria Department Store on the 2nd floor of the Ohayami Building. On a Sunday evening the writer ordered tomato kaoyu (₩43,000) with ningbo fish, adding fuzhu (dried tofu skin) and fensi (glass) noodles, and found the tangy-sweet tomato broth paired beautifully with the thick fish meat. If you like mala tang or hot pot, this is worth trying as a different kind of dinner.
