Nowon hair salon wife's evening volume magic + layered cut: Yeum Hair

There are a lot of hair salons around Nowon Station, but I wanted to write about Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch (예움헤어 노원구청점), because the value is good and the volume magic turns out really well. I called the salon first, then booked through Naver, and my wife was treated by her designer~

Where is Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch?

Yeum Hair is on the 2nd floor of the Starbucks building you see if you keep walking from Exit 7 of Nowon Station (Line 7). The sign is big and easy to spot, so it wasn't hard to find~

I liked that it felt really classy from the entrance. It was neat and clean.

Is there parking at Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch?

The building has an underground parking lot with room for 10 or more cars, plus a tower parking lot. However, the salon only supports parking for up to 30 minutes, so most people should assume they'll pay extra.

What are the interior and treatment seats like?

There's a desk right at the entrance where they check your reservation and the service you want. I had booked ahead, so my wife put on a gown and got ready for her treatment right away.

Another plus: even if you have to wait, there are separate waiting seats where you can wait comfortably.

The treatment area is also very spacious with lots of seats, so you aren't squeezed right next to other customers. They deliberately leave quite a gap between people, which felt comfortable.

Heat treatment is mostly done at these seats by the big window. It was fun to watch the outside through the window. It poured and stopped and poured again that day, and watching that made the time fly, haha.

Is there a place for companions to wait?

Yeum Hair has a comfortable rest area, so I worked on my laptop for the 2 to 3 hours my wife was getting her magic straightening. You can choose a drink from green tea, coffee, barley tea or iced tea, and they also set out light snacks.

It's clearly very open and airy, so it doesn't feel stuffy~

How does the consultation before volume magic go?

She had booked magic straightening, but before the treatment Yeum Hair took time to check her hair condition and the style she wanted once more! In the end my wife decided on volume magic and a layered cut~

To minimize damage, my wife had protein mixed in for the volume magic pre-treatment and heat treatment! Since her hair is very curly, thin and damaged, they use weaker products and spend a bit more time, she was told.

Even with two people working, it took a long time because they applied everything so carefully, which I liked, and her designer always did a final check and tried to do as much as possible herself.

The heat treatment is honestly pretty boring, so they brought gloves filled with cream to keep her hands moisturized. They even left the thumb and index finger open so she could use her smartphone, and my wife loved it, calling it princess play~

How is the volume magic done?

They work fast yet very carefully; after one more shampoo, they moved on to the volume magic itself~

Volume magic means straightening the hair strand by strand with a flat iron, which is a really tough process, and I loved how firmly and carefully she worked. Because it's volume magic, the ends curl under in a round shape, and she worked super hard on small sections of hair.

How did the volume magic and layered cut turn out?

In photos or text it looks really simple, but in reality it was hair that got devoted care over a long 3 hours.

She came away with shiny, glossy hair with no visible damage. She has had magic straightening done in different places every year, but this was the most careful job ever and her hair turned out super silky!

Her designer was so thorough that I sincerely want to recommend it among the salons near Nowon Station. My wife also loved it, saying it's the silkiest of all the magic straightening she has had.

The layered cut my wife wanted also came out so pretty, giving her a light, fresh-looking hairstyle. They're great at cutting too, not just magic straightening~

The shine and silkiness don't show well in photos, so I also captured it in detail on video.

The hand-cream gloves were touching enough, but on the way out they also gave us shampoo, treatment and a hair protection product, plus a business card and a coupon, so we happily took it all.

Yeum Hair seems to be one of the really kind and tidy salons near Nowon Station. They cut off all the damaged parts and still gave a pretty layered cut, and even though we went after work and it was late in the evening, they did the magic so carefully that my wife kept saying, excitedly, that it's her favorite hair ever!!

They put in such genuine effort and did such a good job, so I recommend giving it a visit~
