Italian restaurant in Pocheon for 6-piece blue crab risotto: Eoneu Dal

Eoneu Dal is an Italian restaurant on Jeongmun-dong-gil in Pocheon, Gyeonggi, which moved from a small storefront in Gasan-myeon to its current location. Stopping in as the first course on a trip out of Seoul, the writer ordered garlic shrimp pasta, blue crab risotto, and cheonggyul (green citrus) and omija (schisandra berry) ades. The risotto came with a full 6 pieces of blue crab and the pasta was piled shrimp-high — Eoneu Dal held nothing back on portions or ingredients.

Flounder, red seabream, jack mackerel sashimi takeout: Ttangkkeut

Ttangkkeut Maeul is a live-fish sashimi restaurant that has held its ground in Noryangjin Fish Market, Seoul for years. A sashimi-loving couple ordered a 3-kind sashimi set of flounder, red seabream and jack mackerel (shima aji) to take home, and were won over by the crunch of the flounder, the crispy skin of the maskawa red seabream, and a jack mackerel that finally didn't have that dreaded muddy taste. If you're after live-fish sashimi in Noryangjin, the 3-kind set at Ttangkkeut Maeul is a safe, satisfying choice.
