Low-pH cleanser duo for sunscreen: HEEDA Charcoal Duo Set

Why did I choose these two products for washing off sunscreen?

After my usual cleansing foam ran out, I was looking for a cleanser with a gentle feel and tried this cleansing balm and cleansing foam duo. I do not often wear heavy makeup, but I make a point of applying sunscreen, so I prefer a moist feeling after cleansing over a squeaky-clean finish.

Both products were described as low-pH products made with charcoal. When I used them, they left my skin feeling moisturized and fresh after cleansing, without greasiness.

What was the cleansing balm texture like?

The cleansing balm was compact enough to fit in one hand, like a compact foundation case, and had a plastic spatula built into the lid. I used it at first, but later felt it was more hygienic to scoop out the balm with clean hands, so I did not use the spatula often. Personally, I think it would be better without the plastic accessory.

The balm had a solid texture, but when it touched my skin, it melted with body heat and turned oil-like. I applied it to foundation on the back of my hand and rubbed it in; it removed the makeup smoothly, and it also washed off with water without a slippery residue.

I thought it would be good to use on days when I wear makeup. For camping or outdoor activities where washing with water is difficult, I also thought of finishing with a moist tissue or cotton pad.

How were the cleansing foam's bubbles and cleansing feel?

The cleansing foam came in a long tube package. It made soft, fine bubbles when it met water, and after use, my skin felt moisturized rather than tight, with a smoothly refined-looking texture.

I applied the foam to foundation on the back of my hand, added water, and rubbed it in; the makeup on the area where I applied the product came off. I used the foam again to make bubbles and wash away the remaining foundation.

How do I plan to use the two products?

I plan to use the cleansing balm on the occasional days when I wear makeup, and the cleansing foam every day after applying sunscreen. Both products were close to the moist cleansing feel I prefer, so I was satisfied.
