Seonjae-do hotel with dawn pylon views on a Daebu-do trip: Luna Beach
In short
Luna Beach Seonjae Hotel & Pension is a hotel and pension built in 2025 on a hillside on Seonjae-do in Ongjin, Incheon, and it welcomes dogs of every size, including large dogs, with no restrictions. The writer stayed in Room 501 in October 2026, watched the pylons and fishing boats light up the sea from the terrace at dawn, floated on a tube under the night sky in the outdoor pool on its last open night of the year, and paired the stay with Gubong-do, Mokseom and Simnipo Beach for a one-night Daebu-do trip. Luna Beach Seonjae delivered on location, facilities and ocean views, so much so that the writer's companion was the first to suggest coming back.

What kind of place is Luna Beach Seonjae?
Luna Beach Seonjae is a hotel and pension on Seonjae-do, newly built in 2025, and it welcomes dogs of any size without restrictions. Wow! Luna Beach Seonjae pretty much made this whole one-night Daebu-do trip. It left me with really good memories.
If you have a dog, especially a big one, you know that many places call themselves dog hotels but won't actually let you stay. Luna Beach Seonjae on Seonjae-do takes large dogs with no restrictions, and being new from 2025, it is clean too. Even without a dog, for a family or couple trip it lacks nothing: ocean-view rooms, a spa and a pool (in summer).
Dawn view from the Room 501 terrace at Luna Beach Seonjae
In October 2026, in the dim light between 6 and 7 a.m., I looked at the sea from the Room 501 terrace at Luna Beach Seonjae. Room 501, where I stayed, has a terrace, so you can enjoy this view at ease in the sea breeze.
Room 501 sleeps 2 to 6 and is big enough to fit two queen beds easily. It has a dining table, sofa, TV (Netflix works), rice cooker, kitchenware and toiletries, so even with a large dog the space never feels cramped or lacking.
I realized just how much a roomy place matters for how happy you are with a stay.
Dawn in Daebu-do never really goes dark, with the twinkling pylons and fishing boats. It makes a unique maritime scene. I got up at dawn, sneaked out onto the terrace, and basically became someone who lives there forever.
One-night Daebu-do and Seonjae-do itinerary: what's near Luna Beach Seonjae?
Luna Beach Seonjae sits next to Daebu-do and Yeongheung-do, so it is easy to tour the surrounding sights by car. The main nearby spots are below.
- Gubong-do (lookout, Grandma and Grandpa Rocks)
- Sipri-po Beach
- Jeonggyeong-ri Beach
- Mokseom
- Ppeol Dabang (mudflat café)
- Fishing village experience village
Getting around on foot is hard! This is a trip where driving along the coast is half the fun.

At high tide I strolled leisurely along the sea path toward Gubong-do's Grandma and Grandpa Rocks and lookout, with the water lapping close by. Cars aren't allowed in, so it's full of romance.

There's Sipri-po Beach with its autumn boardwalk full of hornbeam trees, the view of Mokseom that you walk out to at low tide, and Ppeol Dabang, a sort of little Cuba. You don't need to go all the way to the East or South coast: about an hour from Seoul and the capital region you get this much open sea, which is a big plus. With kids, older family members or a dog, long distances are a worry, right? It's a short and satisfying one-night Daebu-do trip.

Luna Beach Seonjae location, check-in times and prices
Luna Beach Seonjae sits partway up a low hill on Seonjae-do. Check-in is 15:00 on the day and check-out is 11:00 the next day. Rooms cost about ₩59,000-200,000, which I found very reasonable.
Being up high, the view is fantastic. There are quite a few supermarkets and restaurants nearby, so you don't even have to cook at the lodging. For booking, check Naver and the official website; there is also an Instagram account.

How big is Room 501 at Luna Beach Seonjae?
Room 501 has big windows, lots of them, so the evening and morning views look quite different. If someone in your group has trouble getting around, you can just look out the windows and chat away without getting bored.

The TV supports OTT services like Netflix. In summer you can also use the pool (for people and dogs).
It's not even my hometown, so why does this view feel like a nostalgic home..?

The room is really big. I just want to live here. It's so comfortable.
Room 501 furnishings and kitchen equipment
- Beds
- Sofa and sofa table
- Bedding (when extra guests are added)
- Vanity, TV, display cabinet under the TV
- Roomy bathroom, full toiletries, good water pressure
- Shoe cabinet
- Kitchen with rice cooker, kitchenware, microwave, 2-burner induction cooktop
- Terrace
- Ventilates extremely well, lots of windows

Even just making breakfast here makes me happy. The dining table is quite big. It's a west-facing ocean view, but the windows on the opposite side let you see the sunrise too.

The vanity has a big mirror, so even a busy schedule is relaxed to get ready for. There's a shoe cabinet at the entrance, so even a big group is no problem. At this price, with this view, this condition, friendly staff, and a dog pension that takes large dogs, it has everything. That must be really rare.
Luna Beach Seonjae facilities: pool, dog run and barbecue area
Luna Beach Seonjae has a summer outdoor pool, a dog run, a dog-only pool and an outdoor barbecue area. As a hotel-pension built new in 2025, it has plenty of facilities.

The last pool night of the year, in October's second week
In the second week of October 2026, I used the Luna Beach Seonjae outdoor pool for the last time this year! It's 1.5m deep, which is pretty deep. Ask whether the dog pool is still running! As night deepened, it was lovely outdoors, cool and with no mosquitoes at all.
The dog run at night is big enough for a retriever to run around. The square pool you can see in the distance is the dog-only pool.

Next to the pool there are tubes in various sizes, and the outdoor barbecue area is available too. Towels for after swimming are kept at the desk, and there is emergency medicine as well.
My companion and I lay on tubes and gazed at the night sky. Living in this kind of luxury, it's nothing short of paradise...

There's a shop for things you need at the barbecue, like instant ramen and supplies, and the 1st-floor shop also has child seats and life jackets. The barbecue-only kitchen is clean too.

Do read the notices! Luna Beach Seonjae is so thoughtful that there's not a single inconvenience.
Luna Beach Seonjae verdict: worth a return visit
I want to come back. My companion said so even before I did.
My companion said they want to come back to Luna Beach Seonjae on another trip. Satisfaction must have been very high. And no wonder, since nothing is missing: the location, the amenities, the room condition, the ocean view.

Saturday busking at the Mokseom lookout
Daebu-do and Seonjae-do get a lot of visitors, so in good weather there seems to be busking too. It's held every Saturday at 17:30 at the lookout in front of Mokseom, so don't miss it. You can come for the event, or just to let your dog run around happily.
I took my time enjoying the pylons and boats that twinkle now and then, and the trees, and walked the nearby trails. Other reviews mention people jogging early in the morning. Our group had a late check-in and early check-out that day, but I wanted to plan to just stay put and chat away.
