Sinnonhyeon café for wedding invitation meetups: Bakerist Brown
In short
Bakerist Brown is a bakery café spread over a basement and three floors above ground, in the CGV alley between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station in Seoul. On the 1st floor the writer picked a 6-flavor Gangnam Sand set (14,000 won), an egg tart and an Eligate pastry, then read a book on the quiet 3rd floor with a salt cream coffee. Bakerist Brown works well for group gatherings like a wedding invitation meetup and for quiet time alone.

Is Bakerist Brown a good café for a wedding invitation meetup?
Bakerist Brown is a bakery café near Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station that suits group gatherings like wedding invitation meetups. The whole building from B1 to the 3rd floor is the café, so finding seats for a bigger group is fairly easy.
When I mentioned Bakerist Brown, a friend said she'd held her wedding invitation meetup here, haha. It's a good café for groups around Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, with tasty bread and a nice atmosphere. It's on the left as you walk down the CGV alley, so it's easy to reach from either Gangnam Station or Sinnonhyeon Station.
There are a few fairly large bakery cafés in this area, and Bakerist Brown felt like the best-maintained of them.

What breads does the 1st-floor bakery at Bakerist Brown sell?
Step into the 1st floor of Bakerist Brown and you see the bakery display right away, full of trendy breads. Pistachio and kadaif (shredded pastry) desserts, mango quignon-amann and Gangnam Sands caught my eye.
The dubai-style cookie craze may have passed, but pistachio plus kadaif still looks delicious...! I kind of wish something covered it, but honestly, seeing it like this looks more intuitively tasty.

Gangnam Sand 6-flavor set: price and taste
The Gangnam Sand set of six flavors at Bakerist Brown is ₩14,000, a slightly discounted price. With several flavors and neat packaging, it seemed good as a gift too.
The mango quignon-amann looked good too, and the Gangnam Sands, easy to share one each, caught my eye. The flavor lineup is like this.
- Caramel & White Choco
- Black Grain: black sesame & cream
- Rich Ganache: chocolate & cream
- London Fog: Earl Grey & white chocolate
- Cream Forest: matcha & cheese
- Peanut Butter Wave: peanut & butter
I bought one as a gift and ended up eating it myself, that kind of review. The sand cookie was so good. Honestly I didn't expect much, but Bakerist Brown seems serious about baking.

From cupcakes to pastries and Bamti Malppang
The Bakerist Brown display had cupcakes, mini cakes, mango quignon-amann, croissants and madeleines in several flavors. There was a wide range of pastries too, like mille-feuille, dirty chocolate, egg tarts and conch cream pastry.
All the pastries look so good..! The conch cream pastry looks amazing too... but I was already full, so I picked breads that would be fine frozen and thawed later.

The Bamti Malppang (a chestnut-colored, lumpy bread) was so cute I took a photo. I think young people would love it. It's ugly but charming...

What are Bakerist Brown's signature drinks?
The signature drinks at Bakerist Brown seem to be the black sesame cream latte and the cream cheese latte. The cream cheese latte is said to be made with Kiri cream cheese.
The dubai-style cookie is gone from the menu now, and I've had the cream cheese latte before. The very rich cream flavor felt special, like eating cream cheese cake~~~

Which floor at Bakerist Brown is best for reading alone?
The best place to read quietly at Bakerist Brown was the 3rd floor. The 2nd floor had many customers chatting, while the 3rd floor was calm and quiet.
I first sat on the 2nd floor, but with so many people talking I moved up to the 3rd floor to read. The 3rd floor was truly peaceful and quiet, perfect for reading. Even the way up is atmospheric at Bakerist Brown.

How do the egg tart, Eligate and salt cream coffee taste?
At Bakerist Brown I chose an egg tart and an Eligate (alligator-shaped pastry), both classic breads. The drink was a salt cream coffee, a fairly sweet sweet-and-salty combo.
The Bamti Malppang tempted me a bit, but I went classic. All the pastries at Bakerist Brown look good, so I think whatever you pick will taste great. The sand cookies come in neat packaging that works as a gift, and each flavor is charming and tasty, so I recommend taking them out one at a time at tea time.

And the salt cream coffee. What can I say about that sweet-salty harmony? It was quite sweet, but I needed the sugar, so it was great. The cream cheese latte I had before was also really rich and good! If you like cream cheese, definitely recommended!

Is Bakerist Brown good for both group meetups and solo café time?
With its lush green view and relaxed mood, Bakerist Brown doesn't feel like a crowded Gangnam Station café. Since the building itself is the café, it can easily hold groups.
It looked like the best-maintained of the few cafés on this street, and it was a good café both for meetups, wedding invitation gatherings included, and for staying quietly by yourself.
