Guys, I'm totally into Mexican food lately, haha. I suddenly had a huge craving for a quesadilla. So I searched hard for Mexican restaurants in Daegu, and Habanero Daegu Sincheon (하바네로 대구신천본점), famous as a Sincheon-dong favorite, jumped right out at me! I went recently, and I'm going to give you a very long review.

Oh, and an important thing! You can't park at Habanero Daegu Sincheon ㅠㅠ The restaurant can maybe fit a few cars, but only two or three, so if you're driving, look up a nearby parking lot beforehand. I'd have panicked if I hadn't known. You can also walk from Daegueunhaeng Station, so if you're looking for restaurants near the station, going by subway is a good idea too.

First impressions at weekday lunch

I went to Habanero Daegu Sincheon at lunchtime on a Wednesday. Even on a weekday, there were quite a few people.

A Sincheon-dong favorite really is different, I thought.

Menu layout at Habanero Daegu Sincheon

How do you pick from Habanero's STEP 1·2·3 menu?

The menu at Habanero Daegu Sincheon is divided into STEP 1, 2 and 3. STEP 1 is mains like fajitas and tacos, STEP 2 is single-plate dishes like quesadillas, patata and bowls, and STEP 3 is side dishes to share.

I got the menu and it's actually fun! It's split into steps, so I understood right away, "Oh, so this is how you order." If you're looking for fajitas or tacos in Daegu, there's so much to choose from that it'll be a happy dilemma, haha.

There are drinks like beer too, so I thought it would be good for an evening drink in Suseong. Groups are welcome, so it seems fine for a company dinner or gathering in Suseong as well!

Quesadilla: the best dish of the day

The quesadilla at Habanero Daegu Sincheon is the beef quesadilla, introduced on the menu as a signature, with grilled beef and cheese inside. It was the dish I was most looking forward to that day, and it really exceeded my expectations.

The moment I took a bite, "Wow, this is good" slipped out on its own. It was the best of everything we ordered! If you're looking for a quesadilla in Daegu, definitely eat this, seriously.

Patata, a potato dish topped with beef and cheese

Patata: the potato signature served in a pan

Patata is also one of Habanero's signature dishes. It's potatoes topped with beef, sauce and cheese that you mix together, and it comes in a pan, so I was drawn to it from the look alone.

Ordered with the quesadilla, it felt completely different, so it was fun to alternate between them. I enjoyed this one too :)

Habanero chipotle beef bowl

Chipotle beef bowl: a filling bowl with rice

The chipotle beef bowl is a bowl with beef and Mexican-style toppings on rice. I liked that it's filling as a single bowl.

I recommend it to anyone who finds tacos or quesadillas alone a bit lacking, or who only feels they've had a meal if there's rice! Overall I enjoyed most of it. Among them, I still think about the quesadilla even now.

How many dishes should two people order at Habanero Daegu Sincheon?

When two of us ordered three dishes at Habanero Daegu Sincheon, the amount was just right. Honestly, I think two would have been a little short.

I recommend doing what we did: each pick one, then add one more to share. Don't forget to order drinks separately!

Habanero Daegu Sincheon was a Sincheon-dong favorite where you can enjoy Mexican food without any pressure. The quesadilla was so good that I want to go again.
