A Yeonsu-dong restaurant find that's both great value and great taste: Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Yeonsu Branch

Where Veteran General Fish Market Yeonsu Branch is, and where to park
Hello, this is Mungmangmung, always on the hunt for good food. Today I came to check out a sashimi restaurant in Yeonsu-dong, Incheon, that's said to be great value for money.
- 📍106 Beotkkotro, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, 3rd floor of Yeonsu Plaza (CGV building)
- 🚊3-minute walk from Yeonsu Station Exit 4
- 🅿️Free parking for 3 hours (basement levels 1, 2, 3 of the building)

A hall wide enough for a company dinner
The inside was really spacious — I mean really spacious, easily able to hold a lot of people. There are large private rooms too, so it seemed perfect for group meetups or work dinners! There was even a separate tea-time zone where you could grab a coffee.
The menu board and prices

Salmon for two at ₩33,000 and seafood ramyeon at ₩6,500 — the prices were really kind in this age of high inflation. Raw shrimp sashimi was ₩25,000, salt-grilled king prawns ₩30,000, and a sushi-included set for two was in the ₩50,000 range, which all looked great. The spicy fish stew looked tempting too... but after a lot of deliberation, we ordered salmon (for two), seafood ramyeon, and sushi rice.
Grilling your own kimchi pancake at the self-serve bar

For dessert, coffee and ice cream to start

Pickled ginger and takuan that pair well with sushi, salad, lettuce wraps, kimchi — and unlimited ramen noodles too, which was surprising.
And what really got me was the self-grilled kimchi pancake! It was so good I ended up making two haha. Fun to make too.
Salmon sashimi for two at ₩33,000 — how was it?

The salmon sashimi for two arrives — glistening with a sheen that made it look obviously fresh.
Salmon sashimi is my favorite of all raw fish, and this exceeded expectations 👏 Not a hint of fishiness or staleness, just the nutty, springy texture of freshly caught fish. Really delicious.

Tried a basic piece first — it melted in my mouth.

Making your own salmon sushi with the sushi rice
Topped a piece of well-seasoned sushi rice with salmon to make my own sushi — a combo I absolutely love haha! I'm someone who orders sushi rice instead of regular rice at sashimi restaurants, so having it on the menu made me really happy.

The price is kind, and the taste, freshness, and generous side dishes are all guaranteed — no reason not to come to Veteran General Fish Market Yeonsu Branch.
What comes as side dishes

The seaweed soup and hoe-muchim (spicy mixed raw fish salad) that came as side dishes were tasty too. Putting a little salted pollock roe on the sushi rice with salmon on top was the best.

A solid spread with grilled fish and corn cheese too. As a kid I always rushed to eat corn cheese at sashimi restaurants — no idea why it's still this good now haha.

Made salmon sushi topped with baek-kimchi (white kimchi) too! And wrapped salmon with ssamjang! Enjoyed it in all kinds of ways.
That salmon sheen though, hahaha.
Why the ₩6,500 seafood ramyeon is a must-order

My husband's and my pick for the perfect side to go with salmon sashimi: seafood ramyeon 🦐🦑 One bite and the refreshing broth was seriously delicious — the coolness of the bean sprouts and the clean seafood flavor, just the best!!!!!! There were even two king prawns in it, already peeled, which made them easy to eat.

Since salmon can be a bit rich and fatty, right when you start to feel like you've had enough, drinking down the spicy seafood ramyeon broth resets your palate, you know what I mean haha. You end up going right back to the salmon and starting over 👍👍 It's cheap too, so make sure to order it alongside :)
Final verdict on Veteran General Fish Market Yeonsu
If you're looking for a great-value sashimi restaurant in Yeonsu-dong, I highly recommend Veteran General Fish Market Yeonsu Branch! The salmon sashimi was soft and fresh, easy to enjoy without any guilt, and making my own sushi was fun on top of that haha. The seafood ramyeon at the end was spicy and refreshing, exactly my taste! With plenty of side dishes and menu items to enjoy, it was a satisfying meal overall, and the value for the price makes this a place I'd love to visit again!!
