Yeonnam-dong restaurant for a group booking: shrimp rolls at Ttasijia

In short

Ttasijia Yeonnam is a Singaporean restaurant in Yeonnam-dong, Seoul, a 7-minute walk from Hongik University Station Exit 3, and the first official Korean branch of Dai Shi Jia, a Singapore restaurant listed in the Michelin Guide for six years running. The order at Ttasijia Yeonnam covered shrimp broth stir-fried noodles, shrimp fried rice, fried shrimp rolls and 100% pressed apple juice, all in generous portions, with outdoor seats as well as indoor tables. Bookings through Catch Table or Naver Reservation start from two people while solo diners can walk in, so Ttasijia Yeonnam suits both a wedding-invitation gathering and a quiet drink with dinner.

What kind of restaurant is Ttasijia Yeonnam?

Today I'm writing about Ttasijia Yeonnam, a new spot that's perfect for a Yeonnam-dong date course 🍤. I heard it's the first official Korean branch of Dai Shi Jia (大食家), a restaurant recognized by the Michelin Guide in Singapore for six years running, so of course I was curious. True to its name — which literally means 'big eater' — it's a place made for people who really love to eat...!

How to get to Ttasijia Yeonnam and how bookings work

It's 450m from Hongik University Station Exit 3, a 7-minute walk.

It's right in the heart of the Yeonnam-dong commercial district, so it's also easily accessible if you're eating around the Gyeongui Line Forest Park. Reservations are taken through Catch Table and Naver Reservation from two people up, and solo diners can just walk in comfortably without booking, they told me.

Inside Ttasijia Yeonnam and the outdoor seats

The exotic interior and cozy lighting really stood out. It seemed like a great spot for a Yeonnam-dong date, and with a menu built for sharing among several people, it also felt like it would work well as a Yeonnam-dong group gathering spot.

The atmosphere makes it easy to chat comfortably for a special occasion, like a wedding invitation gathering or a birthday — perfect as a Yeonnam-dong spot for meeting up with the wedding invitations in hand!

There's outdoor seating too, which is perfect for this cool autumn weather we've been having lately.

What to order at Ttasijia Yeonnam

That day we ordered the signature shrimp broth stir-fried noodles, 100% pressed apple juice, shrimp fried rice and fried shrimp rolls. Check the photos for the menu.

As you can see...! The visuals are insane and the portions are massive haha

Shrimp broth stir-fried noodles with chili-soy sauce

The shrimp broth stir-fried noodles came with a chili-soy sauce on the side, and the rich shrimp broth had soaked so well into the noodles that the savory flavor hit right from the first bite. Adding the chili-soy sauce brought in a spicy, deep flavor, haha — though honestly, I thought it was already delicious even without the sauce?

100% pressed apple juice

True to its reputation as a must-order at the flagship store, the 100% pressed apple juice was refreshing and clean, cutting right through the spicy shrimp dishes to reset the palate. A great pairing with the more intense menu items — and apple juice with cinnamon powder... what a combination.

Shrimp fried rice

The shrimp fried rice was loaded with plump shrimp, so you could really feel that bouncy texture with every bite. The rice itself had a slight smoky wok-hei flavor that added a nice savory depth, and the portion was easy to share with the other dishes. (Just a heads-up — it's a little spicy..!)

Fried shrimp rolls, the best dish to drink with

The fried shrimp rolls were crispy on the outside and packed with plump shrimp inside, working well both as a drinking snack and as a meal item. Just as described — a good 'hawker bite' menu item for pairing with a drink at night — this dish alone was a great excuse to have a light drink.

Overall, that Singaporean feel came through nicely across the whole menu — a place I really enjoyed eating at haha

Table at Ttasijia Yeonnam with a Singaporean feel

The Michelin-Singapore dining vibe really came through as is, so I highly recommend this as a new Yeonnam-dong hotspot!
