Gangnam café for raspberry pound cake and milk tea: Upper and Under

Upper and Under, a large café near Sinnonhyeon Station. I was meeting a friend after a while and looking for a café with good vibes near Sinnonhyeon Station where we could talk comfortably, and that's how I found Upper and Under!

The dessert selection was huge and the space was spacious, so I really liked it haha. Today I want to introduce Upper and Under, a Sinnonhyeon Station café I'd also recommend as a dessert spot ><

How close is it to Sinnonhyeon Station?

Upper and Under is close to Sinnonhyeon Station and also easy to reach from Gangnam Station!! So it's a good spot for those looking for a Sinnonhyeon Station café or a place to stop by during a Gangnam date.

Even the entrance has a stylish feel! The exterior has a bit of that Seongsu-dong sensibility café vibe.

Above all, this isn't your typical small café — it's a large Sinnonhyeon Station café using space from the basement to the second floor, so it was really spacious~~ >ㅁ<

What's in the dessert zone?

And one of the reasons I came to Upper and Under! Dessert, of course lol. In the dessert zone, breads and desserts are lined up by type, and every single one looked delicious, so it was fun just browsing.

From financiers to canelés, madeleines, and bâtiche, the variety was really impressive. Especially the somewhat unusual flavors like pistachio, corn, and salted chocolate. If you love desserts, this is worth a visit even among all the Sinnonhyeon Station cafés!

Seating and first-floor atmosphere

I was looking for a Sinnonhyeon Station café where I could sit comfortably and chat with a friend, and here the space being so spacious was great!! The table spacing was decent too, and there were various types of seating, so it's good for dates or friend meetups.

We settled on the first floor and the vibe was so nice~ The air conditioning was blasting too. These days a lot of large cafés have weak AC, but here it was strong, so another pass lol.

We visited early so there were still plenty of seats, but as the afternoon came, more people came in and the seats were almost all taken~~

On video it feels like this. Spacious and comfortable, great for a date too. I was on a hangout with a friend, and even though it's a large café, it didn't feel crowded or market-like, which I liked even more.

The visuals alone are great, right? Maybe because I've only been going to franchise cafés lately, but I really missed this kind of aesthetic-filled look~~

But we were so busy taking photos before even eating because everything looked so pretty lol. Pretty things must be photographed!!!!

Einspänner

The signature of Upper and Under, this large café near Sinnonhyeon Station, is this Einspänner!! I asked the staff what was the most delicious, and they recommended this, so I ordered it right away.

With an Einspänner, the cream is actually what matters most, you know?? And this one's cream passed the test. The cream was chewy and sweet on top, and the coffee flavor was good too, so I really enjoyed it!! It's not a signature menu item for nothing. It went perfectly with the dessert.

Milk tea

I stole a sip of the milk tea my friend ordered too, and it was sweet and smooth, so it was nice to share with a friend >ㅁ<

Raspberry pound cake

And the raspberry cake I was most looking forward to! A visual with soft raspberry cream piled generously on a fluffy sponge~~ I heard the pound cake was delicious at Upper and Under, this large café near Sinnonhyeon Station, so I ordered it right away!!

Wow, the tangy-sweet raspberry flavor came through subtly, so even with a lot of cream it wasn't as heavy as I expected!! Paired with coffee, the combo was great!

I really felt like I made the right choice finding this large Sinnonhyeon Station café with great desserts haha.
