An engaged couple tired from wedding prep, eating samgyetang before Chobok

Chobok (the first of the three hottest days of summer) is only 16 days away from today,, summer is really coming.. haha. Lately I've been doing a lot of wedding photo shoots (청모, a mobile wedding invitation), and my days are so hectic and chaotic even though I feel like I'm not getting anything done T_T So my boyfriend and I figured we should look after ourselves first, searched around, and ended up at Dream Samgyetang, a well-known spot near Dongtan Station :)

As a hot Dongtan samgyetang place, Dream Samgyetang reportedly serves only its rich samgyetang, made by simmering 10 herbal ingredients, used generously, for a long time. Maybe that's why it was really deep and delicious,,

It's near Dongtan Station, so it's easy to reach even without a car, and the free parking makes it easy if you drive. It's a good spot for family meals and also for a weekday office lunch.

The inside is spacious and clean overall. The tables are nicely spaced so we could eat comfortably, and I saw lots of families too.

What's on the Dream Samgyetang menu?

The menu runs from basic samgyetang to perilla, herbal, mung bean and mugwort samgyetang, plus sides like seafood pajeon (scallion pancake) and jjimdak (braised chicken), so it's perfect for ordering a big spread and sharing!

The abalone porridge caught my eye too, and I feel like I'll crave it when I'm sick someday,, it seems like eating it would cure everything haha.

Self-serve kimchi and kkakdugi refills

As expected, the side dishes are good too, and you can easily grab more from the self-bar. How are the kimchi and kkakdugi (radish kimchi) both so good T_T And look at that steaming samgyetang. Lots of groups come, so try it on Chobok, Jungbok and Malbok!

How were the broth and chicken at Dream Samgyetang?

Just looking at the broth, the depth of flavor and the look are different from other places. And for body-boosting, there's even boyangju (a tonic liquor)~~! haha

On the first sip, the rich aroma of the broth hit me first. Deep broth matters so much in boyangsik (restorative food), and from the first spoonful Dream Samgyetang's broth was deep and rich, the kind I kept thinking about,, Rich broth, tender chicken, and the rice porridge inside, what a combination, so so good T_T I fully boosted my body, and one bowl of this and I can get through summer haha

The chicken seemed simmered a long time too, with meat that pulls off easily, so kids and older folks can eat it without trouble. It was moist rather than dry, and I enjoyed it down to the last piece.

Kkeuh, let's eat this deliciously~~! The sticky rice inside the chicken was generous too, which made it even more satisfying, and soaked in the rich broth it was chewy yet soft, a filling meal. Even one bowl of samgyetang warmed my body and gave me energy,, truly a proper body boost T_T

Even looking back at these, my stomach feels warm and settled haha. Samgyetang is great even alone with a solo drink, but it's even more fun when everyone gathers to eat, right? Come together for the upcoming Chobok, Jungbok and Malbok!

Would we go back to Dream Samgyetang?

It's been a while since I had a truly healthy, proper meal, so I got a real body boost, and eating deep, tasty samgyetang at Dream Samgyetang made me even happier.. If even the basic samgyetang is this good, how much better must the other menu items be? I want to come again,,
