Haeundae cake shop: mango mini cake finished solo in a day, Sijeunikeu
In short
Sijeunikeu Shinsegae Department Store Centum City Branch (시즈니크 센텀시티점) is a cake shop on B1 of Shinsegae Department Store Centum City in Haeundae, Busan. On a weekday afternoon the writer bought a mango mini cake for 39,000 won and finished it alone, saying the cream that suits fresh fruit and the chiffon-and-mango combination made it the best mango cake the writer has ever eaten. Popular Sijeunikeu cakes sell out early, so go in the morning on weekends; the mango mini cake is worth the trip.

Sijeunikeu (시즈니크) Centum City is so famous for delicious cake that I assume you all know it already. Everyone knows Sijeunikeu is nationally famous for its cakes, right? haha. I was searching for a really good cake café in Haeundae, Busan, thought "okay, let's finally try Sijeunikeu," and went. It was tastier than I expected, and I was honestly shocked.
Where is Sijeunikeu Centum City?
Sijeunikeu Centum City is on B1 of Shinsegae Department Store Centum City, 35 Senteomnam-daero, Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea. Parking is available, and it's easy to find, so you shouldn't have any trouble getting there.
It was still well before the department store's closing time, but more than half of the Sijeunikeu cakes were already gone and there wasn't much left.

People kept lining up to buy behind me, too. Word about how good Sijeunikeu's cakes are spreads fast, haha, and I'd already heard plenty about how delicious they are.

When should you go to Sijeunikeu Centum City to get the cake you want?
At my visit, the seasonal fruit cakes were two kinds: strawberry & mango, and mango only. The hugely popular Wareureu cake had just one left when I went, so I recommend going early. Wareureu is such a popular line that it seems to sell out fast.

If you're going on a weekend, just go in the morning, no question. I went on a weekday afternoon and most cakes were already gone; the most popular Wareureu line had exactly one left.

What I ordered: mango mini cake, ₩39,000
I bought the Sijeunikeu mango mini cake for ₩39,000. They give you candles, but I didn't need any, so I didn't take them! Good to know.
How did the Sijeunikeu mango mini cake taste?
The Sijeunikeu mango mini cake was the best mango cake I've had in my entire life. I mean... I'm on my period right now, so I'm craving sugar like crazy ㅠㅠ and cream especially, at that time of the month. I already love desserts and bread and I'm a cream killer, and add that on top and a whole cake is basically the default option for me.. so that day I bought the mango cake fully intending to eat it all by myself.. hahaha

Wow, honestly, the best mango cake I've had in my life. I really love mango cake and I've tried all the famous mango cake places around the country, but Sijeunikeu was number one. It was so good I was shocked. I bought this yesterday and it's already completely gone ㅠㅠ I should have bought two ㅠㅠㅠㅠ I regret it so much

What makes Sijeunikeu's cream different from other cakes?
The cream on Sijeunikeu's mango cake is truly nothing like other places.

If you love cake like I do, you'll know that even if all cream seems the same, the cream that suits each ingredient is completely different. Cream flavored by adding an ingredient, like pistachio cream or chestnut cream, is actually the easy kind. Finding a cream that goes well with fresh fruit is really hard. Fresh fruit keeps releasing water, too, so getting that pairing right is very difficult, but Sijeunikeu's cream was just so, so delicious.

Seriously, the combination of chiffon, mango and cream.. wow, hands down the best of the cakes I've had recently, so good there's nothing to compare it with. My birthday is in June, so I have no idea how many cakes I've eaten.. hahahaha But out of all of them, this was the tastiest one lately.

I understood right away why Sijeunikeu is famous for its cakes. I'm convinced it's the kind of place where, once you've bought a cake, you'll have to come back.
Is Sijeunikeu worth going back to for Haeundae cake?
From now on, for cake in Haeundae I'll go to Sijeunikeu Centum City without a second thought. I get why so many people say in one voice that it's a top cake spot. If you want a really delicious cake, don't hesitate, just go to Sijeunikeu.
