Today I'm sharing a place we visited for a down perm in Jeonju: Moaroom! My husband got his down perm from designer Donghwa Mens, and we found Moaroom after searching and searching for a place in Jeonju that does down perms well. When I searched for down perms at Jeonju hair salons, Donghwa Mens kept catching my eye. After wondering where to get a down perm, we ended up at Moaroom, so let me start the review right away.

Where is Moaroom in Jeonju Gaeksa, and where to park?

Moaroom is on the 2nd floor of a building at 76 Jeonjugaeksa 4-gil, Wansan-gu, Jeonju, Jeonbuk, in the Gaeksa area. We parked in the public lot right next door, and it came to ₩7,300 for 1 hour 20 minutes.

Designer Donghwa Mens specializes in men's hair in Jeonju Gaeksa! My husband usually goes to barbershops, but when he heard she only does men's hair, he came without a second thought.

They're also running a 1-year opening anniversary event with 50% off all perms and dyeing, so the price was really good. I booked through Naver Booking!

Moaroom is on the 2nd floor! I liked the modern exterior and interior, and the whole place felt clean and comfortable to stay in.

What are the inside and waiting area of Moaroom like?

The inside of Moaroom has a simple, neat layout, which I loved! In particular, the seat for the heat machine is set apart by the window, so it's designed to feel like relaxing in a café.

There were three designers in total, and only Donghwa Mens specializes in men's hair!

Getting your hair done takes quite a while, right? For women it's easily 3 hours, but at Moaroom you can read books or charge your phone while you wait, so you can feel how much thought they put into it. There were fun notebooks to flip through too. The chargers were such a thoughtful touch!

The cabinets were neatly prepared, and the layout lets you store your belongings right in front, which was really convenient. The shampoo room has softened lighting overall, so it never feels overwhelming, and I loved the relaxed mood.

How does the down perm consultation with Donghwa Mens go?

Before starting, designer Donghwa Mens asked in great detail what style he wanted and how he usually wears his hair. She even asked about hair thickness, and her thoroughness made me trust her.

Even watching from the side, I could feel how delicately she worked on every detail at Moaroom. Every time I get my hair done, I'm reminded that hair really matters for a person.

When I booked Donghwa Mens on Naver, I could browse the hairstyles she has done so far! It was almost shocking to see that men's hair isn't all the same, and there are so many styles. They were all so pretty that I asked my husband whether he'd grow his hair out and change his style.. haha. But apparently for men a down perm is an absolute must!

We've been together for 6 years, and my husband is such a down perm addict that he faithfully gets one every 3–4 weeks!

How long does a men's down perm take, and what about the wait?

A men's down perm at Moaroom takes about an hour, so it's fine for a companion to come along and wait. After the down perm solution was applied, he moved to the window seat for the heat machine, and I stayed with him there while waiting. There were extra seats too, so it was nice that we could wait together!

They even brought a drink for me. There was coffee, juice and tea, and we both chose juice! They also set out snacks to share, which was so kind.

How does the Moaroom down perm finish, and what are the results?

Even after he came back from rinsing his hair, Moaroom finished with really careful cleanup of the fine hairs! At those factory-style down perm places, many just do a quick once-over and send you off, so I could really see why Moaroom is well known. Totally neat, right? Watching her sharpen every line of his hair left me deeply impressed.

His whole look got much neater and really gentlemanly, don't you think? The moment I saw him I said, "Wow, your hair turned out so good," haha. My husband looked in the mirror afterward and was very satisfied too. Even with the same down perm, who does it matters, and this was a total success!
