Tangjeong family brunch café: arancini my child loved, When You Bite

When You Bite is a European-style brunch café in Tangjeong-myeon, Asan, Chungnam, and one of the Asan brunch spots famous for its waits. A family of three visited When You Bite around 11am on a Saturday and ordered jambon-beurre (14,000 won), truffle cream gnocchi (18,000 won) and arancini (8,500 won), and the staff's thoughtful high chair and unbreakable cup made eating with a child easy. When You Bite is a great Tangjeong brunch café for families as long as you avoid the peak hour.

Gagyeong-dong Korean restaurant, bone-free fish for kids: Jeju Badang

Jeju Badang is a Korean restaurant serving Jeju-style braised and grilled fish in Gagyeong-dong, Cheongju (on Seohyeonnam-ro), with a play room, baby chairs and a self-serve bar with 12 unlimited side dishes. On a weekday lunch with a child, the writer had the lunch-special boneless hairtail braised with pot rice (sotbap) and the grilled atka mackerel set with pot rice, and the child happily ate both the bone-free hairtail and the tender, non-fishy atka mackerel. For families looking for a neat, generous Korean meal in Cheongju, Jeju Badang is worth a return visit.

Cheonan Korean restaurant, chamnamul squid bowl at 1pm: Hyangtaek

Hyangtaek Cheonan Buldang Branch is a Korean restaurant in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, Chungnam, specialising in pot rice and rice bowls. On a weekday at 1pm Hyangtaek was nearly full, and the meal was Spanish mackerel gondre rice, a chamnamul squid rice bowl and a Hanpan mushroom dish received free through the review event. With solo seats and dishes easy to share with a child, Hyangtaek Cheonan Buldang Branch was a success from the very first visit.
