Cheonan countryside drive café with kids' rides: Geurimseu Cafe

Geurimseu Cafe is a very large bakery and brunch café on the edge of Guryong-dong in Dongnam-gu, Cheonan. Stopping in during a countryside drive with her mother, the writer ordered two iced Americanos and a gorgonzola pizza, and her mother approved of the coffee's balance of acidity and nutty bitterness on the first sip. With two parking lots and outdoor ride-on toys for children, Geurimseu Cafe is an easy place to linger with a baby in tow.

Cheonan Sinbuldang sushi with mom: seafood katsu at Ganghan Sushi

Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch is a sushi restaurant on the 1st floor of the First Plaza building in Sinbuldang, Cheonan. The writer visited for a weekday lunch with her mother and ordered the Ganghan Sushi and Ganghan Special Sushi 12-piece sets, which arrive with mini udon, seafood katsu with cabbage salad and miso soup included as standard. Even at weekday lunch Ganghan Sushi was full with a short wait, but the sushi and the included sides made it good value.

Cheonan pork cutlet restaurant with a self-serve bar: Jinsim Wang

Jinsim Wang Donkatsu Cheonan Buldang is a Western-style pork cutlet (donkatsu) restaurant on the first floor of Shinbuldang M Tower in Buldang-dong, Cheonan. The order was the Double Jinsim Wang Donkatsu with tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and cold soba: the cutlet came out freshly fried and crisp, the sauce was not too salty, and the self-serve bar poured unlimited cream soup refills. With lettuce wraps and a self-packing station for leftovers, Jinsim Wang Donkatsu is a generous choice for a family meal.
