Damgeum (담금) is an Italian brunch café in Seongnae-dong, Gangdong, Seoul, within walking distance of Olympic Park. On a weekend visit for two, the writer ordered the Deutto Rosato brunch set, with rosé pasta as the main, at Damgeum's kiosk, and the fresh-tomato sauce was rich without being heavy, so it never got tiresome. Damgeum is a good choice when you want a meal and a café stop in one place after a walk in Olympic Park.
Sorori Sotbap Culture Factory Branch is a Korean restaurant serving freshly cooked sotbap (rice cooked in an individual pot) on the 1st floor of the Cheongju Culture Factory, right next to the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) Cheongju. The eel pot rice was eaten as is and the beef short rib pot rice was mixed with soy seasoning, and the best part was mixing the leftover white rice with butter and wrapping it in seaweed. For a warm meal after an exhibition, Sorori Sotbap delivers on both convenience and flavor.
