This is Jangjak Saenggalbi Jongno Main Branch! Just come out of Exit 1 of Jungangno Station.

I hear it used to be Ubok Geumsaeng Galbi and was renamed and renovated.
Group seating and atmosphere inside
The interior is retro and cute like a café, and the 3rd floor has separate group seating for work dinners and gatherings. The tables and seats were clean, so it was comfortable to eat there.

The inside is retro and cute like a café, so pretty!

The tables and seats are very clean and classy too, so it was comfortable to eat.

Head up to the 3rd floor and you'll find group seating like this, which looked great for company dinners or get-togethers.

The 3rd floor has the same classy feel, with a pretty chandelier and more.
Menu and how to order
The meat menu includes Uiseong garlic fresh galbi, marinated galbi and bakpo fresh galbi, and the meal menu has naengmyeon (cold noodles), ttagwi-jjim (braised pork-cheek-style dish), doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) and spicy pork ramyeon. Everything is ordered by kiosk.

This is the meat menu. From Uiseong garlic fresh galbi to marinated galbi and bakpo fresh galbi, there's a wide range of meats, so you can pick to your taste!
The meal menu also has naengmyeon, ttagwi-jjim, doenjang-jjigae, spicy pork ramyeon and more.

You can order everything from the kiosk, and even request extra side dishes through it, which is so convenient.
Side dishes and the free steamed dish
The side dishes include seasoned lettuce salad, white kimchi, seasoned radish and several sauces, and a steamed dish comes out as a free service. It all goes well with the meat.

From seasoned lettuce salad to white kimchi and seasoned radish, plus several sauces, there's plenty to go with the meat.

They also gave us this 🌟free steamed dish (pyeonbaek-jjim): the meat was tender and the shrimp plump, perfect to eat before the main meat!
Why 250g of brick-cut fresh galbi is good for a taste test
The brick-cut fresh galbi here is also sold in 250g portions, so it's a good way to sample several things alongside the Uiseong garlic galbi. Staff grill the meat for you, which was easy.

I wanted to try both the brick-cut galbi and the Uiseong garlic galbi, and the brick-cut one comes in 250g portions, so it was just right for a taster.

The meat looks amazing, and you can tell right away they use fresh raw meat.

The marbling and color already looked so delicious that I got even more excited! 🥩
Best of all, the staff grill it for you, so it's an easy, comfortable meal.

Dipping the well-grilled galbi in salt, it was juicy with a rich meaty aroma, so good.

They even trim the meat attached to the rib bone so it's easy to eat, and you know that part is extra good because it's so chewy! •͈౿•͈
What does the 500g Uiseong garlic galbi taste like?
The 500g Uiseong garlic galbi comes generously topped with Uiseong garlic, and the meat is so tender it felt great for older folks too. Dipped in the special Uiseong garlic sauce, the garlic flavor really comes alive.

Uiseong garlic galbi generously topped with Uiseong garlic 🧄

They grill this one for you too, and the meat is so soft and tender ⺣̤̬♥ (it felt just right for older folks to eat!)
Dip it generously in the special sauce made with Uiseong garlic that comes with it, and you get the rich garlic flavor and savoriness all at once.

The meat is so tender that even a big bite isn't heavy at all! Add seasoned lettuce salad and garlic with ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) for a perfect bite ⊹♡
Finishing with brick doenjang stew and rice
To finish after the meat, I ordered the brick doenjang stew and rice. The stew was packed with ingredients, and two bowls of rice vanished fast.

After meat, doenjang stew with rice is the only way to finish!

The stew is loaded with ingredients, so two bowls of rice disappeared in no time.
Raspberry highball, Cass Zero Lemon: is there zero beer too?
The restaurant has a raspberry highball and zero-alcohol beer like Cass Zero Lemon, so the drink choices are wide. Few places sell the lemon flavor of Cass Zero, so I was happy to see it.

Tasty fresh galbi with a sweet-tart, cool raspberry highball and a fresh Cass Zero Lemon beer 🍋⁺₊˚ (Few places sell lemon-flavored Cass Zero, and with zero beer on the menu too, the wide choice was great!)
If you're looking for a Korean BBQ place in Jongno, Daegu, especially for a group work dinner, I'm recommending Jangjak Saenggalbi Jongno Main Branch!
