Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap (호주에서온회전초밥) is a conveyor sushi restaurant in Mundeok, Pohang (Ocheon-eup, Nam-gu), and every plate is ₩2,200. My husband and I had a great morning swim, then headed over for a late lunch and ended up polishing off 20 plates 😋 It was a weekday late lunch, so there was no wait, and tasty sushi solved our hunger right away 🥢

Every plate for just ₩2,200? The price alone is lovely, but the quality absolutely doesn't slack, which moved me...✨ We worked our way through the 2-piece plates: flounder, salmon, aged kimchi flounder, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), even cheese galbi, and we demolished them all! The salmon was amazing in particular, and the turnover is fast, so it's 🆗 for a busy office worker's lunch too.

After a lively round of swimming with my husband in the morning, my stomach was throwing a full-on riot. Clutching my empty belly, I ran to a late lunch at Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap, a Pohang Mundeok spot with a great word-of-mouth reputation 🍣

What sushi does Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap serve?

The range is huge, from the basic lineup of flounder, octopus, shrimp and egg to aged kimchi flounder, salmon with onion, yukhoe, California rolls, cheese galbi and egg shrimp. We were grabbing plates off the rail without thinking, and before we knew it the two of us had wiped out 20 plates! 🦐🦑🐙🐟

Besides regular sushi, there are lots of lightly cooked, torched sushi options too, so it would be great for people who can't really eat raw fish, or for bringing kids. 🥚🧈🥩

Restaurant atmosphere and seating

As soon as I walked into Hojueseo, I liked how big and spotless the place was. The waiting area is roomy, and it even has massage chairs. What a thoughtful touch! ✨

Since there were two of us, we were shown to the dacchi-style (counter-style) bar seats, and inside there were plenty of regular tables for groups.

How do you order? Hot broth and tablet ordering

Once you sit down, you're first served a cup of piping hot broth. You can take fresh sushi straight off the rail, and if you want something specific, order it on the tablet and they make it right away!

Every plate ₩2,200: how was the quality?

The truly amazing thing about Hojueseo is that every conveyor sushi plate is just ₩2,200. The price is kind already, but the quality never suffers for it, and I was so satisfied the whole meal. Honestly, it's hard to find a Pohang conveyor sushi place that nails both value and quality, but this one I fully admit!

We're big eaters, so we prefer freshness and variety over a few teasing, fancy bites. So we tried to taste as many kinds as possible and mostly went for the 2-piece plates.

What's good about sitting at the bar counter

Sitting at the bar, you can see the chef making sushi on the spot, which is fun, and eating each piece the moment it's made felt exceptionally fresh. It almost made me think I don't need an expensive omakase.

On top of that, the turnover is really fast, so I highly recommend it for a busy worker's lunch in Pohang Mundeok. At best you can leave full in a few dozen minutes! 😘

Hojueseo allows free corkage (up to 1 bottle) for any type of alcohol. Such good news for a drinker like me...🍾 With all this delicious sushi in front of me, I desperately wanted sake or white wine. Next time I'm definitely leaving the car at home and opening a bottle of wine.
