In short
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch (부엌간 차이니즈 마린시티점) is a modern Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor of The Sharp Adelis shopping arcade in Marine City, Haeundae, Busan, with views of the sea off Dongbaek Island. On a weekend lunch with a child, the writer took the last free end seat among the mostly reserved window seats and ordered BUKK jajangmyeon (black bean noodles, ₩8,000), beef brisket jjamppong (spicy noodle soup, ₩12,000) and a small black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork, ₩28,000). Is a Chinese restaurant allowed to have a view this pretty? Lunch overlooking Dongbaek Island

When you look for a place to eat with a child in Marine City, Haeundae, it's surprisingly hard to find somewhere with decent food, comfortable seating for kids, and a nice atmosphere too. Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch (부엌간 차이니즈 마린시티점), where I went this time, ticked all three! Dongbaek Island and the sea stretched out in front of us the whole meal, and we had a weekend family lunch at this Marine City favorite.

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a modern Chinese dining restaurant with views of Haeundae's Dongbaek Island and the Marine City sea. The address is 51 Marine City 3-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan, 2nd floor (Udong 1436-1). It's open daily 11:00-22:00, with a break from 15:30 to 17:00 and last orders at 15:00 and 20:30. Parking in the arcade lot is free for 1 hour 30 minutes, and groups, high chairs, separate men's and women's restrooms and reservations are all available.
Where is Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch, and how is the parking?

Bueokgan Chinese is on the 2nd floor of The Sharp Adelis shopping arcade across from Hanwha Resort, right above Subyeonchoego Dwaeji Gukbap (a pork and rice soup restaurant). It's a 3-minute walk from the currently hot Momos Coffee Marine City branch, so a coffee after your meal is easy, and it's convenient to head on to Dongbaek Island or The Bay 101 afterward.

Going by car was easier than public transport. You can use The Sharp Adelis arcade parking lot, and 1 hour 30 minutes of parking is free with a meal. In Haeundae I always check parking first, and here there's decent space and a generous free window, so we could eat without rushing. Come out through the passage on the Iraeok side inside the parking lot and it's easy to get to the restaurant!

A private elevator that's stroller-friendly
Go in between Pungwonjang Seaweed Soup Marine City Busan and Subyeonchoego Dwaeji Gukbap Marine City and you'll find Bueokgan Chinese's private elevator. Bringing a stroller or your parents feels less of a hassle. We took the elevator up, but on the way down our child wanted to take the stairs, so we walked down.👀
A 100-pyeong ocean-view space facing Dongbaek Island: is it comfortable with a child?

The first thing that caught my eye the moment we walked into Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch was, of course, the sea view! Unlike a typical Chinese restaurant, it's a modern Chinese dining space with warm lighting and clean interiors. It suits family meals, but also dates or dinners with your parents.

The space is roughly 100 pyeong (about 330 m²), roomy and pleasant, with generous spacing between tables. That made it easy to park a stroller and move around while eating with a child.

There are plenty of baby chairs too, and staff bring one to your table if you ask. We sat on the built-in sofa seating, which made eating with our child comfortable!

Reserve the window seats: one end seat was left
What you can't skip at Bueokgan Chinese is the Dongbaek Island sea view through the full-length windows. Sit by the window and Dongbaek Island and the Marine City sea fill your view. We arrived around 11:20 a.m., shortly after opening, so the restaurant was relatively quiet.

But most of the window seats were already reserved. Only two were available, and one of those had a 1 p.m. reservation, so we'd have had to finish quickly. Luckily one window seat at the end was still open, so we could eat looking at the sea up close.

Of all the Chinese restaurants I've been to, this is the first with such a clear sea view! In Marine City I'd mostly eaten at first-floor restaurants, so I didn't expect the view from the 2nd floor to be this refreshing and pretty.
💡 If you have your heart set on a window seat, I recommend booking in advance on Naver.
Lunch waits and group rooms
As lunchtime approached, customers quickly increased and soon there was a wait. If there's a wait, you register on the Catchtable device at the entrance and wait on the waiting chairs in front.
Inside there are also private rooms. They reportedly seat from 5 to 26 people! The rooms felt calm and clean, and looked good for slightly special occasions like a baby's 100-day party, a family gathering or a parent's birthday meal.
The day I visited, a gentle autumn breeze was blowing, and they had the big windows wide open. We could feel the sea breeze drifting in while looking at the water, which felt like eating outdoors and like being on a trip to Busan, so I loved it even more!
The cashier is at the back of the restaurant, so on my way out after the meal I peeked at the empty window seats inside. The atmosphere, what on earth... ✨ At the inner window seats Dongbaek Island looks a little bigger and closer, so personally I felt the view was better there.
What we ordered at Bueokgan Chinese, and the prices
At Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch you can order easily on the tablet at your table.

Before the food, tea, pickled yellow radish (danmuji) and zha cai (Chinese pickled mustard stem) came out first. All the dishes we ordered arrived together, which was nice!

- BUKK jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) ₩8,000
- Beef brisket jjamppong (spicy noodle soup) ₩12,000
- Black vinegar pork tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), small ₩28,000
- Steamed rice ₩1,000

A Chinese feast with a view of the Haeundae sea!

BUKK jajangmyeon (₩8,000), perfect as jajang rice for a child
BUKK jajangmyeon is a classic jajangmyeon with plump, chewy noodles and generous amounts of pork and onion. It was neatly topped with julienned cucumber and egg.
Best of all, the black bean sauce isn't overly sweet or harshly salty, so it's mild and easy to eat. There's plenty of sauce and no spiciness at all, so I scooped some onto an extra bowl of rice and mixed it as jajang rice for our child.

Beef brisket jjamppong (₩12,000), even seafood jjamppong fans will love it
My husband and I usually prefer seafood jjamppong, but this day we tried the beef brisket jjamppong. It came loaded with rich beef brisket, crisp napa cabbage and lots of vegetables, with a pleasant hint of wok smokiness.
The noodles were plump and thick, with a nice texture alongside the broth. The deep beef stock combined with the refreshing sweetness of the cabbage made a hearty, spicy broth, and taking a bite between the tangsuyuk and jajangmyeon cut through the richness.

There was more meat and vegetables than I expected, so even one bowl felt filling. The seasoning was a little strong for our taste, though. Still, we're a seafood-jjamppong couple and we said, "Hey, this beef jjamppong is good!" so I think we'll crave it again next time. One family member in particular ate it so, so happily 🤍

Black vinegar pork tangsuyuk, small (₩28,000), the pick of the day
The black vinegar tangsuyuk was my favorite! A special sauce made with Chinese black vinegar gave it a tangier flavor than ordinary tangsuyuk. The batter was crisp and the pork loin inside thick and tender, a textbook crispy-outside, juicy-inside.

Thanks to the sweet-and-sour sauce, I never got tired of it. The meat was especially tender, so it was fine for eating with a child too.

Our little one fell for the Bueokgan sea view first 🤍 then happily munched a spoonful of savory jajang rice and a piece of crispy-outside, juicy-inside tangsuyuk 👶🏻 A day when the beautiful scenery and tasty food treated both eyes and mouth💛 It was especially nice that we could eat comfortably with our child.
Verdict: a Marine City sea-view Chinese restaurant to visit with a child
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch let us enjoy a tasty meal together with sea views, and we could relax in the atmosphere throughout. The weather was good, so we took a slow lunch looking at Dongbaek Island and the Marine City sea outside the window, and above all, visiting with our child and having an easy family meal made this Marine City favorite a good one.
