Post-workout brunch café in Banwoldang, Daegu: ballroom decor at Dento
In short
Dento is a newly opened brunch café on Bongsan Culture Street (Bongsan Munhwa-gil) near Banwoldang Station in Jung-gu, Daegu. After a workout downtown, the writer stopped by Dento on a weekday before lunch for a set of five bite-sized open sandwiches, tomato soup and an iced Americano. Dento, a new brunch café near Banwoldang Station: what is it like?
Dento is a brunch café newly opened on Bongsan Culture Street near Banwoldang Station. I'd gone downtown to work out for the first time in a while, got hungry, and dropped by for a light brunch and a cup of coffee!!!

The café sits on Bongsan Culture Street, which already made it look extra nice, and since it had only just opened, I was even more excited to visit!

What are Dento's interior and seating like?
Dento's interior feels like a hotel ground-floor banquet hall, and the tables are big, mostly seating four. WOW... the café's atmosphere is seriously amazing!!
A banquet hall you'd find on the ground floor of some hotel? That's the vibe, and it honestly surprised me :) I loved the little props here and there, and there were more seats than I expected, so I was thrilled! I came on a weekday before lunchtime, so it was quiet, which made it even better~!! The tables are big and mostly seat four, so it would be great to visit with friends too~!

Dento's menu and what I ordered
Dento's menu had a wide range, from brunch dishes to coffee and drinks. As you'd expect from a new brunch café near Banwoldang Station, there were lots of tempting brunch items plus coffee and drinks. I ordered the one I was most curious about, the open sandwiches in five flavors, bite-sized, along with tomato soup to go with them, and of course coffee too!

French toast shared by the owner
While I waited after ordering, the owner shared a little French toast as a freebie. I'd sat down and was looking around when the owner brought me this French toast on the house!!
Wow!!! I love toast so much and had been agonizing over whether to order some, and it turned out they'd just prepared it to eat with the staff, and they shared a bit with me too :) The texture was soft and fluffy, and sweet, a toast that put me in a good mood! It was a perfect appetizer.

Wow.......... the presentation is seriously amazing! They set it up so nicely it could rival a fancy restaurant :)

How do Dento's iced Americano and tomato soup taste?
Dento's iced Americano had a clean, no-fuss taste that went well with brunch. It was kind of hot out, so I started with the cold iced Americano ("aa", as we call it in Korea), and it was clean and straightforward, just right for a brunch, and

Dento's tomato soup has a strong tomato aroma and flavor and comes with crispy croutons. The tomato scent and taste were seriously intense!! The crunchy croutons paired really well, and I was surprised by how deep and rich it was, but the more I ate, the lighter it felt on my stomach, and it was delicious, so I was satisfied!

Dento's signature: 5-bite open sandwiches
The 5-bite open sandwiches are Dento's signature menu item, and a staff member explains each one and the order to eat them in. The looks alone are amazing!! The 5-bite open sandwiches, what can I even say ㅠㅠㅠ Every single one was made with care, and I liked that they explained them one by one!

They told me the order to eat them in too, so I tried them one by one, and the lineup is great and the taste is the best! I'm a small eater, so getting to enjoy five different sandwich flavors really appealed to me! So I ate every single one and enjoyed them all!

Is the portion enough with the bite-sized open sandwiches and tomato soup?
Having tomato soup with Dento's 5-bite open sandwiches also leaves you full. I ate the soup alongside them and, surprisingly, felt full, so I was satisfied!!! I think anyone who wants a simple, healthy brunch will definitely like this combination :)

Dento in one line
Dento, the new brunch café near Banwoldang Station, won me over from atmosphere to taste. The 5-bite open sandwiches are an absolute must! The tomato soup is great alongside them too, so I recommend getting both~!
