Today I visited Dolsoe Ssambap (돌쇠쌈밥), a Korean ssambap (leaf-wrap rice) restaurant in Hanam Misa. Now that the weather is getting cooler, I keep craving a big spread of wrap greens and a bowl of hot rice. 🍚 I'll leave a detailed review for anyone looking for a hearty lunch spot or a place for an evening get-together in Misa! ✨

Is Dolsoe Ssambap a good place to go with kids?
In the hallway of the building where Dolsoe Ssambap is located, there's an orange banner from the kids' platform Mom Mom (맘맘) that reads "Must-visit places with kids." For anyone looking for a spot to eat with children, Dolsoe Ssambap is a place you can trust.
As soon as I stepped into the hallway, there was the orange Mom Mom banner. 👶 Since it's picked by a kids' platform, I figured lots of families with children would come here. I came once before with my niece, and the baby ate so, so well!

How to order at Dolsoe Ssambap and the jeyuk ssambap price
At Dolsoe Ssambap you order on the tablet at your table, and the Dolsoe jeyuk ssambap (spicy pork wrap set) is ₩14,000 per person, with a minimum of 2 people. One ssamjang (wrap sauce) is included per 2 servings, and we chose the seafood ssamjang. 🙌
It was convenient not having to call a staff member over. 😄 We ordered 2 servings of the Dolsoe jeyuk ssambap.

What do the wrap greens and side dishes look like?
The wrap greens at Dolsoe Ssambap come piled on a long plate in a nice variety: lettuce, perilla leaves, Swiss chard, red mustard greens and kelp. They arrived soon after we ordered, and with so many kinds it was fun to pick and choose. 🌿 The vegetables were fresh, with a crisp crunch.

The side dishes filled the table too. There were 8 of them: seasoned cucumber, seasoned bean sprouts, namul kimchi, stir-fried fish cake, seasoned radish, stir-fried eggplant, stir-fried seaweed stems, and tangy pink pickled radish. It was a feast for the eyes! 😍
What goes into the seafood ssamjang?
According to the explanation on the restaurant wall, the seafood ssamjang is made by generously adding snails, squid and assorted vegetables and simmering it with care. This was the thing that impressed me most that day! 🦑 It's described as a side dish and seasoning in one, great with meat wraps and also good mixed into warm rice.

Tasting it myself, it really was rich in savory depth. It wasn't just salty; it had a deep flavor that worked both on a wrap and mixed into rice. 👍

Doenjang-jjigae and steamed egg come too
The Dolsoe jeyuk ssambap came with a bubbling doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) in an earthenware pot, plus steamed egg. The stew, with zucchini and green onion, was hearty and refreshing. 🔥 The fluffy steamed egg was perfect to eat between bites of the spicy pork, soothing the mouth. 🥚

How does the Dolsoe jeyuk taste?
The star of Dolsoe Ssambap, the Dolsoe jeyuk (spicy stir-fried pork), has a light smoky char and a sweet-spicy seasoning that makes the rice disappear. When the main attraction finally arrived, loaded with onion, green onion and carrot and sprinkled with sesame seeds, it passed the look test right away. 💯 The meat was tender too, so I think kids and adults alike would eat it well. 🍚

How to wrap the Dolsoe jeyuk
Put the Dolsoe jeyuk on a lettuce leaf, add a little seafood ssamjang, and wrap it up in one big bite, done! The crisp greens, spicy meat and savory sauce come together nicely in your mouth. Adding a perilla leaf or red mustard greens brings a fragrant note and a different flavor. 🌱

Overall verdict on Dolsoe Ssambap in Hanam Misa
Generous vegetables and side dishes, spicy pork, and savory seafood ssamjang: it was a truly satisfying meal at Dolsoe Ssambap. 😋 If you're looking for a Korean ssambap restaurant in Hanam Misa, I definitely recommend it! It suits family meals, eating out with kids, lunch with friends and evening get-togethers in Misa. 👨👩👧👦 Pile lots of wraps onto a bowl of warm rice and enjoy a hearty meal.
