Soybean kalguksu restaurant in Gwanpyeong-dong, Daejeon: Yongja 1
Yongja 1 Gwanpyeong Branch is a Korean noodle and dumpling restaurant in Gwanpyeong-dong, Yuseong, Daejeon, where the kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) are cut in house and the dumplings are pinched fresh every morning. Two of us arrived just before the 14:30 lunch last order and ordered kong-kalguksu (soybean noodle soup) at 10,000 won, kalmandu-guk (dumpling noodle soup) at 10,000 won and eight steamed dumplings at 9,000 won — more food than two people could finish. The kong-kalguksu, on the menu only from April to September, matched its creamy soybean broth with the house-cut noodles so well that we drank the bowl dry.
